To get so upset over this stranger?

An incident happened today and I cried about it for ages afterwards and even tonight it's really bothering me. AIBU to be so upset?

I went to my gym today, there was a man walking right behind me and as I walked through the door he pushed me aside and walked through

I did the usual British thing of saying 'wow excuse me' in a loud voice but it was like he didn't hear me
I said to the receptionist 'god some people are so rude'

Then as I walked down the corridor to the changing room he was walking back having forgotten to input his car reg into the computer, there was only us in the corridor and plenty of room yet again he barged into me

I was a little shocked then said 'I'm going to see the manager you've pushed me twice'

Then I cried for ages, the manager spoke to him and said he confirmed what I'd said but offered no explanation and was rude to her too
She said she's sending him a warning letter that if he behaves like this again his membership will be cancelled

I'm not a crying person, I deal with twats and get threatened on a weekly basis in work but this was just so odd
He didn't speak, nothing, never even seen him before

Why the hell wasn't his membership cancelled? Don't they have security cameras at the entrance? If so they could check them and then cancel the fucker's membership. Are they going to wait until this creep hurts someone? I bet if he did it to a manager he'd be out on his ear. I would put my complaint, about him assaulting you, in writing, as they might take it further.

What was his response when you said you were going to complain?

justilou1 · 13/08/2017 02:27

Wonder if it's the guy who pushed the jogger? He sounds like he was waiting to push you. What a psycho! I'm so pleased you complained!!!

Great reply @Somerford

He's a dick but I'm not sure he's worth crying over for ages.

I don't know, some days I'm just not up for some of the rudeness that gets thrown at you (generic 'you'). Sometimes it just affects you more.

Thank you all so much for your replies and kind words.

I know the manager well and trust her to deal with it, she was straight up there to speak to him. She also knows me well enough to know I don't let little things bother me or complain about every little thing.

I wonder if you were so upset because your woman's intuition picked up he wasn't just rude to everyone, but specifically had a thing against women? We don't always know why we feel so upset or threatened, but when that inbuilt female Spidey sense goes off, we must always, always listen. Good on you for flagging it to the manager.
