To wonder if I can get a decent soundbar for less than £200?

Any recommendations please? Sound on our TV is pretty shocking and also want to be able to connect Spotify via Bluetooth. I have no idea where to start and there are ones as cheap as £60 and then there are the £600+ ones! Anyone picked up a decent one for less than £200?

I'm going to wait for reviews of the Sky Soundbox, think it will be £250 for Sky customers. www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/sky-soundbox-release-date-price-details-devialet-q-mini-multiscreen-plus-hd-ultra-a7862841.html

Soundbars are a total waste of money! buy a surround sound system, you will get true 7.1 surround sound for that spoopy feeling during horrors, louder total max sound level but wont need to crank it so high when you are furthest away as the surround speakers are much nearer to you

I bought my LG soundbar from Argos for £150.

I bought this soundbase for DP last year rather than a bar as he wanted something hefty. It's amazing. TV sits on top though so not sure if it would work with a wall mounted (if that's what you have). Cambridge are a great brand for audio and available from John Lewis too. m.richersounds.com/#!/product/camb-audi-tv2-v2-blk

Sonos

Ours is Bose and from an outlet shop (not sure of cheaper than high street). Think it was just under £300 but it is amazing. Sound obviously fantastic, and has Bluetooth.

Thanks for replies - it's only a small room... not sure if that makes a difference

And I thought Sonos were really expensive?

Please don't buy one unless your property is detached. We had to tolerate (for the best part of a year!) every Thursday and Friday night and all say Saturday and Sunday, a rude and ignorant middle aged bastard next door who thought everyone should hear the film or music he was playing. You could be 4 or 5 houses away and hear it booming down the road. Confused

Me and DH used to go out for 4 or 5 hours at a time to get away from it. We mentioned it several times, he would turn it down for a week, then it would come back up again, rinse and repeat. Sad

Yep, HE had a soundbar!

He left a year ago thank fuck, and we have a lovely little family of 3 living there now, who have not had their music or TV a QUARTER of the volume yet!

Posted too soon!

With the guy next door, all we could hear for hours and hours of a weekend was boom boom boom through the party wall. Got us down so much some weekends that, as I said, we went out. The other neighbours could hear it down the road (outside,) but they were free from it inside their house because of double glazing. We weren't because the noise came through the party wall.

That is why I said 'please don't get one unless you're detached!'
