Sodding f***ing underwear!!

Not sure if this is an AIBU post but more of a what the f* is going on post.

I cannot be the only one with this problem. THE GUSSET IN YOUR UNDERWEAR! They are meant to provide extra security and catch any discharge and vaginal fluids so why the hell is it so sodding difficult to find a pair where the gusset is not up my backside? Is this a problem with anyone else or is my body shape just abnormal?

I don't get why so many of you have problems. What are you buying? I am a size 12, but, admittedly, don't have skinny thighs. As a result my knickers stay put and don't ride up. I get my underwear from M and S and never have this problem.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 11/08/2017 22:48

I'm a big knicker convert. Apart from John Lewis micro fibre and cotton bikinis (go a size smaller) and some full size lace ones from m&s years ago they are the only ones that don't roll down.
I look at the bits of dental floss dd wears and think "that's not hygienic"

BumWad · 11/08/2017 22:49

Boy shorts are the way forward

AlmostAJillSandwich · 11/08/2017 22:53

My issue is the gusset never being wide enough. I typically wear high leg as i dont like hipsters as they roll down and i like thrm to come maube an inch below my bellybutton, or feeling like theres only a cm of matetial above the top of my bum crack. Full briefs come up too high though. I dislike the high leg gap but theyre thr best of a bad bunch of options. Dont like shorts style as i need to wear sanitary products on a daily basis and they just dont fit. I miss the old midi style i could get as a younger teen that had width/crotch coverage of full but came a bit under the bellybutton.

charleyfarleysaunt · 11/08/2017 22:59

I used to be a faithful M&S devotee until a couple of years ago I discovered ASDA plain black cotton high legs fitted me pretty much perfectly - not too much of the hungry bum syndrome (or arse crawlers if you prefer)

Luckily I bough a few packs over time, as not so long ago I thought it was time to replenish my knicker drawer...

I noticed that the label had moved from the back to the side, but I thought nothing of it until the middle of that fateful morning when I had that horrible moment of the discomfort of knickers moving up where knickers should not go... the bastards had changed the effing design

So now, I'm Back to the search for comfy drawers

LilyChantilly · 11/08/2017 23:00

I found out about handmade pants from etsy and bought a pair to try out - they were without doubt the most comfy pants I've ever worn! Certainly not to everyone's taste and a bit pricey, although not loads more than those gorgeous Oddball pants that Decorator linked to. I did start a thread about them because I was totally delighted with them but got flamed by lots of people who hated the look of them (they were very colourful and unusual because that's what I like) and also thought I was selling them because I was being so gushy about them. But I still love them and they are still the comfiest pants ever so I'm happy! Will PM you a link if you want or you could find my previous thread... Don't want to get shot down again so not going to link here.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/08/2017 23:10

Lily pm me a link please!

LilyChantilly · 11/08/2017 23:23

PM'd you SirVix Smile

Thank you Smile

Ohyesiam · 11/08/2017 23:30

I find boy Shorts difficult. The gusset is to flappy, Wirth no elastic at the sides to anchor it.
Does anyone else find this?

AllToadsLeadToHome · 11/08/2017 23:44

I used to get M&S high legs, then midi but they all creep up my backside. The most recent thing is that they are rolling down at the top. I only wear them with trousers so find they have slid down under my belly and half way down my arse.

I looked at M&S for some higher waist ones but I don't want them cutting into my thighs or riding up my backside. The gusset in the midi ones isn't too bad, it is the rest of them that is bloody awful.

BlurryFace · 11/08/2017 23:51

Can't stand boy shorts, the extra fabric rides up and chafes me! I stick to multipack bikini briefs I buy off Amazon that are excess stock and have the labels cut out. I have always found gussets too far back for me so some of the discharge is in front of it. I guess I have a weird vag.Grin

Halle71 · 12/08/2017 00:02

I'm with you ohyesiam - just don't get boy shorts. The gusset is just a seam that cuts in and doesn't cover anything.
And as for boy short bikinis - the same problem as above, but with underbum hanging out! A big pant that doesn't cover anything it should do - ok for 8 year olds but not women.

LockedOutOfMN · 12/08/2017 00:52

Yeah I can't do boy shorts either.

Granny pants all the way for me. Soft and stretchy, but never baggy, with a huge, correctly positioned gusset.

ASauvingnonADay · 12/08/2017 01:12

I only really wear m&s 'invisible' thongs. Pretty much all other pants just end up going up my backside, so might as well wear something that is designed to be there! I blame my rotund backside. As we speak I'm wearing some m&s 'shorts' or whatever they're called, and low and behold they are up my backside! Far from ideal.

youarenotkiddingme · 12/08/2017 09:01

I'll tell you what the worst gussets I've EVER experienced are. Some lovely lacy soft short style knickers and the gusset was like a diamond stitched only on the 4 points.

Pants were lovely and comfy and didn't ride up my area.

Gusset however kept getting sucked up my fanjo like it was a hoover Grin

LoniceraJaponica · 12/08/2017 09:39

I don't find shorts comfortable either. The gusset is non existent and the lack of elastic round the legs mean that they ride up.

selly24 · 12/08/2017 09:44

Marks and Spencers midis I find to be great! Cotton comfy and 'deep' enough without being too grannyfied! Will see if I can link.

Alison100199 · 12/08/2017 09:58

I usually wear boy shorts or largish pants and the gusset is always too narrow. I'm a size 8 ffs and they fit fine apart from my bits coming out at the sides (tmi?). I can't even use a pant liner as it's wider than the bloomin gusset so I get adhesive sticking to me.

LoniceraJaponica · 12/08/2017 10:04

I have the ones with the lace tops, and they are very comfortable. Why do you still wear them then Alison?

Alison100199 · 12/08/2017 10:23

Because the only alternative seems to be thongs or pants with equally small gussets. Perhaps I am just fat down there and don't realise it Confused.

RiversrunWoodville · 12/08/2017 10:30

I'm a shameless devottee of the Asda granny pants after dd2 they were comfy and there's no going back

LoniceraJaponica · 12/08/2017 10:35

Alison Have you tried the M and S ones on the link? The gussets have plenty of room.

CoraPirbright · 12/08/2017 10:45

Depending on how much you want to spend, I think I may have the answer for you! I bought some Cath Kidston knicks the other day and couldnt get over how wonderfully comfy they are. Upon investigation, I discovered that the gusset is about 3 inches wide!!! It's brilliant - no wedgies/one buttock hanging out problems at all!! They are £7 a pop though....
