YANBU

Baby will be fine and you deserve a night out.

honeysucklejasmine · 11/08/2017 17:42

Why wouldn't you? I mean, is she breast fed? If not, one assumes (hopes!) your partner should be more than capable of looking after his child whilst you go out for a few hours. Have fun!

NotPennysBoat815 · 11/08/2017 17:42

Why would this ever be unreasonable? Have a good night!

YANB at all U

Lots of people are going to say "he's her parent too so tell him to parent etc" so do you mean this or do you mean you feel a bit nervous about leaving her op?

CherriesInTheSnow · 11/08/2017 17:44

It's up to you entirely, if it's a special occasion it's not like you just fancy going out randomly. I'm sure your DP is capable.

That being said, when I was a first time parent with a 9 week old, I wouldn't have wanted DP to go out without me and leave me with DD - but that's completely up to you and your DP to judge! I also was never able to leave DD when she is poorly, especially when tiny, and did actually cancel a night out when DD had her immunisations (can't remember what age but older than 9 weeks for sure).

So it's really down to what you feel comfortable with. If you feel the need to post then maybe you are not as comfortable with it as you would need to be to enjoy the night out?

DearMrDilkington · 11/08/2017 17:45

Go and have fun! You just created a small human, you deserve a night off.

Kitsandkids · 11/08/2017 17:50

I've got a nearly 10 week old and the night of her first jabs I was a bit neurotic about taking her temp every couple of hours. So I wouldn't have been able to relax on a night out. Plus she doesn't settle that well for my husband. But your baby is your baby and you'll know if you think she'll be ok or not. And whether you will!

GinIsIn · 11/08/2017 17:50

I wouldn't, no, because my DS reacted really badly to the jabs and was really poorly but if your baby seems ok then go for it!

pinyata · 11/08/2017 17:59

I feel guilty leaving her because she's slightly poorly although she just drained her bottle gave us a big fart a few smile and went back to sleep

DP is fantastic with her he is very hands on and is a dab hand it's his second time round as where she's my first I am 100% confident in leaving her with him it's more if I should be here for her after such a big ordeal

As long as you feel comfortable with it then go and enjoy yourself!
Her dad can deal with her for a few hours, I'm sure he knows how to take her temperature etc of need be.

JsOtherHalf · 11/08/2017 18:04

Just be aware you may be very sensitive to alcohol. Enjoy :)

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 11/08/2017 18:04

Enjoy yourself. I know it's daunting leaving a baby that young, but it's a night out. Your husband will be fine!

MumsOnCrack · 11/08/2017 18:05

Yep, if you want to. And then come back when you've had enough. They'll be fine and it shows you trust him.

gamerwidow · 11/08/2017 18:11

If you want to go then go. Even if your baby is fussy because of the jabs I'm sure his dad is more than capable of looking after him. However if you don't really fancy it having a 9 week old is the perfect excuse for staying home.

LockedOutOfMN · 11/08/2017 18:46

Baffled. Yes, it's fine. Enjoy the birthday party.
