Can't decided, keep getting mixed reviews and can't afford to spend a fortune.

Thanks x

Oh, and it was £100 on eBay.

MrsKoala · 11/08/2017 21:57

We have an Uppa Baby Vista and I currently ferry round my 9mo in the toddler seat, my almost 3 year old in the rumble seat and my almost 5 year old on the buggy board. It has the largest shopping basket too.

I got rid of the mountain buggy duet as it was so low the kids were scraping their feet and hands along the floor. And if you have big children like mine, they have to sit sideways as the seats are so narrow and uncomfortable and there is nowhere for shopping. Also i had constant bruises on my shins as folding it away is a nightmare and it's footprint folded up is virtually the same as when it's up - and it's heavy/cumbersome to carry when folded.

underneaththeash · 11/08/2017 21:59

I liked my mountain buggy, but DH didn't - it is quite wide. The we got a phil and teds which he liked and I didn't as I don't like having a child in the back that can't see.

I'm sorry that's not massive helpful/

Oysterbabe · 11/08/2017 22:04

Following as I need one too. I want a side by side and am thinking of the newest model of mountain buggy as it's narrow for a side by side. DD will be 2 when the new one arrives and she's a petit little thing anyway so hopefully she won't find it too small.

SophieofShepherdsBush · 11/08/2017 22:07

Out n about 360 nipper. Can eat an ice cream while pushing it with one hand with three, yes three, small children piled into it.

MrsKoala · 11/08/2017 22:08

Oyster - i sold mine to a neighbour with 2 petit girls and she loves it.

dangermouseisace · 11/08/2017 22:10

Phil and Teds. I missed it when the kids were too big for it. Especially brilliant for festivals.

Waterlemon · 11/08/2017 22:15

Baby jogger city mini,
folds one handed, and could fit into the boot of my ford fiesta. either stood up or if I took the wheels off (really easy push button) it could lay flat. Nice roomy seats for my 2 tall heffalumps. The hood/shade covers most of the baby, roomy basket and comfy height/ handle for pushing.

Absolutely loved mine!

Once ds1 no longer needed a buggy I sold the double and bought a 2nd hand single. I then passed the single on to sil who bought new covers for it for £80!

Before buying the Baby jogger, I was loaned over double buggys but didn't get on with them at all! The main problem was because the dc were different ages and therefore weight/size. Some of the other buggys were quite difficult to push as they would vere to the side with the most weight, a nightmare If oldest dc was on the road side of the pavement! I was also loaned a 3 wheeler tandam style but I struggled to get up and down kerbs without tipping the thing over!

BurchellTheBurchell · 11/08/2017 22:19

Baby jogger, city select I think. I loved it

MuddlingMackem · 11/08/2017 22:20

It was a while ago and there weren't many options back then, but our Graco Stadium Duo tandem did a smashing job and didn't cost that much - about £160 11 years ago. And if your toddler is a heavyweight you can put them in the back and the baby on the front in a Graco Autobaby car seat. Makes it easier to steer and to get up kerbs.

Lovely big basket and folded down easily once I got the knack of it. Grin

PodgeBod · 11/08/2017 22:27

I have a britax be agile and I really like it. Very inexpensive.

I've got nearly two year old twins and am
on my third double buggy.

Started with the Mountain Buggy Duet which I loved but was huge when folded and heavy. It was the slimmest double on the market and a dream to push though. I understand the newest version is smaller when folded. I also was able to attach my car seats and used basinets when they were tiny.

Then moved to the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. I loved the huge hoods, super easy fold, massive basket and lots of space. It fitted through every door I encountered (some with a bit of wiggling). I found it really cumbersome to push though and not suitable for terrain other than "city".

I now have the Out n About Nipper 360 and LOVE it. It pushes like a dream, is super light and fits everywhere very easily. It folds reasonably easily and isn't too bulky when folded (though you can remove the wheels very quickly if needs be). It's not as roomy as the City Mini but that's trumped by the fact that it's fits pretty much anywhere and is a breeze to push. However, I understand you can't attach car seats to it so this might be a deal breaker if you require that.

rachrach2 · 11/08/2017 22:36

Had a Maclaren twin techno which was fine. Got a second hand phil and ted sport for £50 (for running) and we love it, got rid of the maclaren as the Phil and ted became buggy of choice.

SlurplePurple · 11/08/2017 22:52

My oldest and middle are 2yrs apart and my middle and youngest are 20 months apart so I've had a few doubles.
Had a maclaren side by side and hated it. I found it too wide and couldn't get anywhere with it.
Tried a graco tandem but it was impossible to push with ds1 in the front who at almost 2yrs weighed 15kg.
Finally found a second hand baby jogger city mini on local Facebook page for £40. A real bargain and lovely to push even one handed. Giant seats that easily fit my large 2yr old. Seems comfy as they fall asleep in it easily. The basket is huge but if either child is reclined fully it's impossible to get to.
Sun shade hoods are fantastic too.
I can even fit my 7yr old niece in it comfortably (long walk and she was tired).
Super easy to fold and easy to clean after ds1 has been snacking in it.

thehousethatjillbuilt · 11/08/2017 23:06

Mountain buggy duet - which I love. Fits through doors, handles nicely. But takes up the entire boot of my car (which is an MPV with the seats down - so not a small boot!) and very heavy to lift into and out of car.

Maclaren twin triumph - which I've only used once because i bought it for school runs and it doesn't fit through the pinch points on the alleyways on the shortcut to the school. Gutted!

OuiMerci · 12/08/2017 07:08

A wise mother told me to measure my front door before making any double buggy purchases as some are too narrow for a side-by-side!

StatisticallyChallenged · 12/08/2017 07:22

Another vote for the city mini. It (just) got through the door of our narrow doored old house, was a breeze to push and worked well with a whole variety of ages and size difference. DH was a CM, so it got constant, heavy use for about 4 years and never missed a beat or had a single fault. And, because of the way it folds up, you can hang it on the wall for storage (happy to tell you which hooks we used!) which makes a huge difference if you don't have a big hallway, or a shed or something to keep a buggy in!

EverythingNow · 12/08/2017 07:42

Another point about to consider. The baby jogger city mini had hard tyres which may not be all terrain but equally never went flat. When I changed to a triple my major issue (aside from its weight) was that the inflatable tyres get punctures/go flat.
It depends whether that bothers you but I wouldn't choose inflatable tyres again.

nigelsbigface · 12/08/2017 08:06

Phil and Ted's

B1rdinthebush · 12/08/2017 08:15

Everything I found this is solved by "sliming" the tyres. It's a gel that you put in the inner tube which prevents punctures and seals them if one occurs. A £6 bottle did my Nipper 360 and I've not had any problems.

RandomUsernameHere · 12/08/2017 08:50

Mountain Buggy Duet. I've never not been able to fit through a door with it. Would recommend getting the puncture proof tyres though as the ones it came with got lots of punctures and wore out quickly.

passmethewineplease · 12/08/2017 08:51

City mini here.

I wish I never got rid of it. I have a joie double and why it's ok I still prefer the BJCM

DarkestBeforeDawn · 12/08/2017 12:17

Mountain buggy duet. Side by side which for me was essential. Ridiculously easy to steer and the best part is it fits through standard doors. Pretty heavy though.
