Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

I hope his life gets destroyed by this.

I really think the bus driver saved that woman's life.

Is it just me that's concerned that the bloody police thought he was in his 30s Confused he's so clearly older it makes me wonder how they do their id descriptions when there isnt a handy photo for us to see!

Ceto · 10/08/2017 19:24

And I don't see why this isn't attempted murder. He waited for a bus and tried to push her under it.

Where do you get that from, londonista? The bus is simply driving up behind him, there's no indication of him looking over his shoulder and seeing it. And I don't see how he could have waited, given that he could not control the point at which the woman walks by him.

And the bus had just gone past. He was trying to push her into the path of it.

No, it hadn't gone past, it was behind both of them - hence the fact that the driver was able to move to the right and stop. Brilliant reactions and driving on his or her part.

MeanAger · 10/08/2017 19:25

I'm just arguing against assumptions based on stereotypes.

Whose assumptions based on what stereotypes?

Can anyone explain to me just why this woman would try and trip a random man she doesn't know who happened to run past her on her way to work?

Can anyone explain to me just why this man would try and push a random woman he doesn't know who he happened to run past on his daily jog?

HelenaDove · 10/08/2017 19:31

Waddle im hoping they put the wrong description out to lull him into a false sense of security.

It was bloody obvious he was/is 40s or 50s though.

InvisableLobstee · 10/08/2017 19:35

With regard to the tripping thing I think it's telling that police have experience viewing cctv footage and could get expert advice and technology to check if they thought it a possibility, but they have never even mentioned this and the man has been charged.

NoLoveofMine · 10/08/2017 19:36

Can anyone explain to me just why this man would try and push a random woman he doesn't know who he happened to run past on his daily jog?

Can you explain any aggression or violence towards women and girls from men in public? That's far more common than women going around tripping up joggers out of nowhere Hmm (Even discussing this is derailing and giving succour to victim blaming anyway).

HipsterHunter · 10/08/2017 19:41

Maybe she secretly looked at him funny?

Or maybe she is a trained ventriloquist and she said "you're a prick" without moving her mouth to provoke him.

Maybe she is actually his sister and 3 years ago she persuaded their dying rich granddad to cut him out of the will and broke up his marriage by making up false abuse stories from when they were children?

Save the men from nasty women!

MeanAger · 10/08/2017 19:42

Can anyone explain to me just why this man would try and push a random woman he doesn't know who he happened to run past on his daily jog?

Because he felt entitled to the space she occupied. And hurting women doesn't usually result in serious consequences for men.

MeanAger · 10/08/2017 19:44

Has he been charged? I thought he was released pending further investigation?

NoLoveofMine · 10/08/2017 19:48

No he hasn't been charged MeanAger.

MeanAger · 10/08/2017 19:50

Thanks nolove

Can anyone explain to me just why this man would try and push a random woman he doesn't know who he happened to run past on his daily jog?

Because he is one of "them" joggers that believes everyone should move for him.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 10/08/2017 20:46

Look I have a very, very low opinion of this gutterprick, I'm not being generous. He most definitely had no other reason for the push, (which was deliberate and hard but only really with one hand - not a full body shove), other than an aggressive, entitled show of dominance, but to infer his intent is, imo, not really helpful.

We don't know what he intended, we just know what he did. What he did was despicable and inexcusable.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 10/08/2017 20:56

I thought he was middle aged by the cctv, I don't understand the 30's thing either.

The guy they arrested may not be the right guy or perhaps they need to ID him via a line-up before they can charge him. I doubt the cctv is enough for a positive ID.

SilverHawk · 10/08/2017 21:12

Blimey, I got the age spot on! Why couldn't the police give a better age bracket?

LineysRun · 10/08/2017 21:28

only really with one hand

He uses both hands

Jux · 10/08/2017 21:56

He definitely used both arms to shove her; you can see him 'return' them just as she starts to fall.

Could premeditation come into it as he veered towards her before pushing her, and why would he do that, except to push her? I realise that he could just have gone towards her to ask her out on a date, but what he did was push her, so we can assume that he veered towards her in order to push her and not for any other reason. That, to me, indicates intention and planning.

BMW6 · 10/08/2017 22:13

Why is anyone blaming the Police for getting the age wrong initially?
I assume they were going by the witness statements!

SilverHawk · 10/08/2017 22:25

No police bashing here whatsoever. I was commenting on the CCTV image.
I think the police do a very hard job in London especially. I just hope that the 'jogger' doesn't wriggle out of any charges. Victim blamers and dick heads on R4 don't help.

SilverHawk · 10/08/2017 22:37

BMW6 - witness statements! When everyone has seen the clip?
I think they had someone in mind but went with the wrong age deliberately, perhaps? Is the MET that clever? I hope so Grin

scaryclown · 11/08/2017 00:11

They'll know that any jogger in their late 40s would be made up to be considered 30s and with an egotistical persona wouldn't have been able to resist boasting to someone...

It's very Columbo..

BoneyBackJefferson · 11/08/2017 00:18

SilverHawk

witness statements! When everyone has seen the clip?

Quite a few people have got the information wrong from watching the clip.

The police will have to be careful in using the clip as the can't be seen to have altered to footage.

So witness statements are required.

HelenaDove · 11/08/2017 00:26

scary it sounds more like a Fitz from Cracker idea.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 11/08/2017 00:40

She's already falling when his left hand comes up, it possibly doesn't even make contact. Honestly, watch again on YouTube with full screen and pause as she starts to fall, his arm is down.

I'm not arguing that that mitigates his actions in anyway. None of his hands should have made contact with her because he should have moved over if he feared a collision.

I don't get how deliberately misrepresenting his age would have helped in anyway. There is a video of him. He will know that it was him and he will be aware that people who know him might recognise him from the footage. Seems like a redundant tactic. It would make more sense that they were trying to obscure his identity... I'm not saying that I think that's what happened.

Maybe the women/witnesses read him as younger and it was based off their estimation.
