Ear ache - ever an emergency GP appt?

Identifying, so name changed.

Three weeks ago I had head injury - night in hospital, told to go back if anything became worse. Went back 48 hours later with bleeding ear. Diagnosed with inner ear infection. A and E were lovely. Given antibiotics, and ear drops to take. Bleeding stopped and had dull ear pain. Has been coming and going and I've been feeling utterly miserable.
Have also had swollen glands, been unable to swallow, high temperature coming and going.

Pain tonight has become much worse - 8/10. I'm hot and one side of my head is banging. I'm wondering if it's spread.

AIBU to get an emergency GP appointment tomorrow? I feel pretty shit doing this bearing in mind I've already wrongly ended up in A and E (even though the staff told me it was the right thing to do). No more drops, antibiotic course finished, have been taken vitamins etc. and have had paracetamol and ibruprofen this evening.

Ring now! You'll be awaiting a call back anyway. If by any miracle you feel better you can say so.
They will triage you over the phone and advise on the next recommended course of action. Please don't wait or leave until the morning. At this stage you will just talk through your symptoms.

Ah mastoiditis is what my brother had.

I'd go to A and E tbh OP.

Keep us updated with what the GP said.

Oh and also, I had an ear infection for 6 weeks a few Christmases ago, it was so bad my ear canal swelled almost shut. It had become and putter infection as well as inner ear infection.
I was on two different antibiotics that didn't work so they swabbed it to get the exact bacteria and treated it properly.

So make sure you insist they swab your ear as well.

Good luck today OP, make sure you get a swab!

Thank you - ended up being put in the nurse cue. No swab, a quick look and i have another course of antibiotic ear drops to take for three days.

Going to go to walk in if it stays like this though tomorrow.

No swab 😩

Why they make people wait to identify the bacteria is ridiculous, it stops weeks and weeks of pain.

Although when I had the ear infection described above the ear drops were what I used to kick it so perhaps that will help.
I'm a bit Hmm at 3 days though. Since when did any infection clear up that quickly and completely?!
