I know I know I was asking for it- going out in the car on a Sunday; 'Sunday drivers'... As I was sat/stuck behind yet another slow, overly cautious (shit - IMO) driver it infuriated me that she left a car sized gap between her and the car in front of her. These selfish twats idly trundle by just as the lights change leaving whoever was stuck behind them (and their massive unnecessary gap...) stuck at the lights. I curse them. What and/or who really gets you mad?

There's a special place in hell reserved for people who stop to rummage around in their bag/pockets in front of the ticket gate at tube stations! Yes, you might not have had time to get your card out beforehand but please stand to one side while you do it rather than get in everyone's way!

Also people who stop in their tracks in front of you on oxford street when it's busy to take a picture of the likes of primary or McDonald's-why??? Surely they're not that exciting?

coursedarlin · 06/08/2017 21:27

Oh and cyclists who are halfway in the road and cycle path the whole time you can't overtake them. Then when you get to traffic lights they go on the path and fuck off. Then join the road again! Just to do the same again further up the road

TheFirstMrsDV · 06/08/2017 21:27

Thats what I think Ido but according to so many threads on MN making even the nicest comment about a child is fraught with danger.
Particularly if you are over 50

Nightshirt · 06/08/2017 21:27

Sharpie-like eyebrows...

TheFlandersPigeonMurderer · 06/08/2017 21:29

I live on a national cycle route and we experience a constant stream of Lycra clad bodies zooming past, shouting to each other at the top of their voices from first light every weekend Hmm
I know it's utterly irrational but Ugg boots It's not just the stupid shape, but also the schlep, schlep, schlep noise people make walking in them. I actually saw a small boy wearing them once and had to leave the room, so hot was my inner fury.
And more topically, the fact that I leave for the airport in a couple of hours to jet off to sunny climes and my fucking period is about to start

hennipenni · 06/08/2017 21:29

Noisy eaters
Noisy/heavy breathers
People breathing on me
Drivers who cut in front of me on motorways in the safe space I've left between me and the car in front- this really pees me off.
People who moan and tut as they scurry past me and my daughter as we're walking slowly- she looks healthy and well but is recovering from a stroke and brain surgery.
The same goes for people who make crass remarks at my wheeling an empty wheelchair whilst my daughter is walking- she uses it when she gets tired.

Oysterbabe · 06/08/2017 21:30

My DH constantly faffing with the fucking sat nav while driving, looking for alternative routes if there's a bit of orange or red. He's going to kill us all if I don't kill him first.

Every time we visit MIL we leave with a car full of DH's junk that she's desperate to clear out and he inexplicably has stored there even though he moved out 15 years ago. There's not a spare inch of space in our place but we'll have to squeeze 2 more crates of shit in somewhere until he can 'go through it' and establish that it's junk. It's probably his GCSE coursework. 95% of the shit in our house is his. I reckon I can fit everything I own in a 3 door hatchback.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 06/08/2017 21:30

After reading the thread now, I'm going to add people who sign off a post on a forum Grin.

Also, it's obvious the OP was talking about not leaving a car length wrt being in traffic, not actual driving. No rational person would actually think you need to leave less than a car length whilst driving and think it's then ok to moan about it.

IDoDaChaCha · 06/08/2017 21:31

TheFirstMrs I must admit, I don't do a lot of commenting on other people's children. Too busy making sure DD with her monkey long arms isn't chewing through the packet of something she's swiped that we're not buying Grin We were leaving a supermarket today and walked out as an elderly woman walking in gave DD a frozen poisoned look. Add 'people who glare at children who aren't doing anything glare-worthy to my list' Grin

OP posts:
SabineUndine · 06/08/2017 21:31

People who are inconsiderate on public transport or allow their children to be. I'm including anything from boarding planes to dawdling on your own two feet and letting your child run riot in the middle of the pavement in that. It drives me round the bend.

LightDrizzle · 06/08/2017 21:33

People chewing gum while talking
Being called "Hun" and "Dahl" repeatedly by people in service roles.
Eating noises
Lads burping loudly behind me in the street.
Lateness
Able-bodied people using the very large disabled toilet with an adult sized changing table during halftime at rugby matches to have a fag/ toilet their three small children and give them snacks / have prolonged phone conversations.
Janet Daley and David Starkey used to really annoy me on The Moral Maze.
Consumer protection programmes on TV or radio, like Watchdog.

RedastheRose · 06/08/2017 21:33

People who drive slowly then when you move up to overtake them flash their brake lights. Just fuck off and drive at the appropriate speed for the road not 30 mph in a 60 mph limit twats the lot of them.

NoKidsTwoCats · 06/08/2017 21:34

Another cyclist one - when you're in a line of cars trying to overtake one of the lycra-clad lot. After much crawling along at approx. 3mph up some hills with no place to safely pass, you eventually get past them before arriving at traffic lights where they have the fucking cheek to squeeze past all of the cars and jump the queue so when the light goes green you all have to go through it again.

Why can't they just wait in the queue like everyone else? Boils my piss.

RedastheRose I feel your pain

OP posts:
RubaDubMum89 · 06/08/2017 21:35

Ignorant people, the kind that don't say thank you when you hold a door open for them.

People in the super market queue who push into your back with their trolley. Sorry love, I can't go any bloody faster, it's out of my control. Push me again with your trolley and I'll push it right back!

Also people who feel the need to pay with exact change (which takes them twenty mins to find) at the till.

In fact, supermarkets in general!

Owl1011 · 06/08/2017 21:37

People who wear pyjamas to the supermarket. If you can make the effort to go to the supermarket then you can make the effort to put on clothes that you don't wear to bed!

EccentricPickle · 06/08/2017 21:38

Erm, yeah, you're supposed to leave a car sized gap. I only recently passed my test and I was TAUGHT by my instructor to leave a car sized gap. It's a safe stopping distance away and if a car hits you from behind it means that you're less likely to be shunted into the car in front.

Things that annoy me:

People getting too close when I'm at traffic lights. Grin

People standing too close behind me when I'm in a queue. This happened to me yesterday when I was in H&M. A woman was literally breathing down my neck so I stepped forward a bit to stop her from invading my personal space. She also stepped forward! Fuck off fuck off fuck off!

Grumpy bus drivers.

Lovely, friendly bus drivers who stop and chat to everyone, therefore delaying the journey and making you late for work Angry. You're lovely and all BUT GET A MOVE ON.

Thank god I don't have to get the bus much anymore!

People who don't tell their children off when they're being naughty, they just let them carry on. People who let their children run wild and then look at you as if to say "aren't they so cute." No, they're not cute - they're being a pain in the arse.

People in general. People are arseholes.

I have low tolerance for people. Grin

IDoDaChaCha · 06/08/2017 21:38

Really enjoyed reading your rants so far Grin some genuine belly laughs. See, you're all helping me laugh about it instead of getting out of my car and battering the slow driver to death with DD's stroller Grin

OP posts:
hasanyoneseenthecat · 06/08/2017 21:39

People who over explain everything, labouring over every tiny detail of their usually really fucking boring story

IDoDaChaCha · 06/08/2017 21:39

Eccentric at the lights. RTFT.

OP posts:
IDoDaChaCha · 06/08/2017 21:41

With the amount of congestion on our roads it'd be interesting to see the absolute mayhem caused if everyone left a car sized gap between each vehicle at lights. Add a few hours to every journey.

OP posts:
SabineUndine · 06/08/2017 21:41

People who say 'ignorant' when they mean 'rude'.
People who say 'entitled' when they mean 'presumptuous' or 'arrogant'.

Wateroffaduck · 06/08/2017 21:42

Ok, this is going to sound bad. People giving me parental advice. I never say anything, just mumble "good idea" and seethe inside. My DD is 4 she starts school next month. I have had constant advice, how to potty train, how to get her to sleep at night, and now, how to get her ready for school and to make sure I label everything.

I also have 3 sons, 17, 19 and 23. I have done potty training 3 times before, I have done sleeping through the night 3 times before, I have done first day at school 3 times before, I have labelled 3 lots of school kit for years. I don't need parental tips. At all. Thank you. Please stop. I have more kids than you. My sons are older than your kids. I know what I am doing.
