I have just turned 40. My background is in law. I find high street private practice deadly dull and boring and would like to retrain. There are LOADS of things I am interested in, but would love to hear ideas about what others might do.

I used to be a fashion journalist, then I was a SAHM, now I work PT in the marketing dept at an independent school. I would love to retrain as an educational psychologist, but too long/expensive.

I'm a teacher and whilst I loved it for the first 10/15 years, I detest it now.

Same here. I just do cover supervisor work now, which is a lot less stressful but also very uninspiring and frustrating.

I do a bit of adult teaching too (MFL) and really enjoy it, but there's not the demand for daytime classes and I don't want to abandon my dc every evening!

Watching thread in hope of anything inspiring to do with an MFL degree...

I did adult as for a bit but similarly don't want to abandon kids each night. Ex teaching is a hard spot when you see others forging ahead in their professions.
