Please advise. This is for my parents -

Parents bought a new electric kettle (well known brand name) and it broke within 3 months.
Well known high street electrical shop who sold it, refused at first to take it back, even though parents had a receipt.
Parents were offered the same brand new kettle as a replacement and took it.
This second kettle has now broken just over 3 months later. There is a receipt.
WIBU to go to shop ask for a refund tomorrow on their behalf?

3 months duration for a kettle seems very poor to me.

Yes you can and should return it.

YANBU I would expect a kettle to last over 3 years let alone 3 months.

Of course YANBU. Simple 'Sales of Goods Act' legislation. Of course a new kettle should last 3 years or more, there is no question with 3 months.

Let me guess... is it a delonghi? Mine lasted a bit longer than three months, but having spent £80 on a kettle I was not impressed at all!!!

Problem solved. Brought it back this am for a refund with no hassle.
i think they knew by my demeanour that i wouldn't brook any horseshit fobbing off.
Thanks all.
