To be worried about these symptoms?

Very tired, thirsty, stuffy nose, minor toothache, lightheadedness on and off, palpitations, dicky tummy.

Is it just a summer cold? What would you say to a friend who said they had these symptoms?

I'd ask how long they'd been like this. Palpitations is the worrying bit I think and I'd say call 111 or see a Dr. Everything else sounds like could be a bug or virus depending how long it's gone on but the palpitations is a concern.

Ah, you're fine! You have a cold - stuffy nose will make you feel thirsty as you are breathing through your mouth rather than nose; tired because you are run down; lightheaded as you are unwell; palpitations because you need to go to bed; dicky tummy coz of the mucous Grin

Cantbepossible · 04/08/2017 21:46

Good explanation user!

Get some sleep! You'll feel better in the morning Smile

Cantbepossible · 04/08/2017 21:52

Been going on for at least a week.

Palpitations not so often, maybe once a day?

Possibly pregnant? Sound like my early symptoms...

Cantbepossible · 04/08/2017 22:52

Yes eyedrops, that's where my mind went. I've got a coil though so pretty unlikely...

I am not a medical professional!Smile

Are you run down or anxious about anything?
Is Diabetes in the family?
Could be a nasty virus and making you feel awful.

Go and see a properly qualified health professional for advice.

Cantbepossible · 04/08/2017 22:58

I know you are right SanD, just worrying that eyedrops is right.

Get a test and take it from there, got to start somewhere.

Come on kid, be braveWink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/08/2017 23:07

Cold or sinuses.

Cantbepossible · 04/08/2017 23:10

I have tests in the bathroom, think I'm going to have to do on in the morning to get the thought out off my head.

It will be negative though. Surely.

Test is negative - - thank goodness - -

Cross out fail there! So relieved, must just be a summer cold. Might visit Dr about palpitations and lightheadedness if it doesn't go this week.

All, apart from the stomach upset and palpitations, are cold or allergy symptoms, with resulting sinusitis.

The palpitations and upset stomach are classic anxiety symptoms. Palpitations can also happen to normally calm and laid back people during times of stress, over indulgence or exhaustion. Ditto for the dodgy guts.

OwlinaTree · 05/08/2017 07:23

Hopefully it will calm down a bit now then.

lazydog · 05/08/2017 07:30

Get your palpitations checked out, but they are so common and usually totally benign. DH is very fit and the most laid-back person I know, but he recently had extremely frequent arrhythmia (PVCs) for 4 months after MIL's death. He was sleeping fine and not feeling distraught, but it started at the point of bereavement and eventually tapered off, so was obviously a response to the stress of what happened, even though he showed no other outward signs.

Onetwothreeoops · 05/08/2017 08:00

Tiredness and palpitations could be linked to anaemia. Stuffy nose could be mild hayfever and could be linked to feeling thirsty if sleeping with mouth open.

You could just have a few minor things going on rather than one big thing.

mogulfield · 05/08/2017 08:13

Just so you don't worry, I get palpitations every day, got checked out (the works- they had me running on a treadmill, an ultrasound, made me wear a monitor, ecg), to be told by a cardiologist that I'm very normal and I have a very healthy heart! He said it could be related to how much exercise I do (I run every day).
But if it continues I'd get it checked, just so you can be reassured to!

Cantbepossible · 05/08/2017 08:48

Thank you, that's all very reassuring.
