To treat myself to a Wetherspoon dinner?

I am getting married on Saturday - due to being in and out of hospital with in utero DS, I didn't have the time to get wedding shoes I'm far too relaxed too

Well, I hunted everywhere today and found a pair for £12, down from £55.

I was going to buy the £120 Debenhams ones as a last resort because I simply couldn't find anything at all

They fit fab and look great.

AIBU to treat myself (on my own with no company Grin), to a pub style dinner?

I have saved a bit of money and feel like treating myself whilst looking like an odd bodd sitting at a table on my own

Enjoy your steak and chips, you'll enjoy the peace and quiet on your own and we'll all be there in spirit.

Have a fab wedding day too 💐

Steak and Chips are a medical necessity for you. Well done of the comfortable, bargain shoes. Have a wonderful wedding and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Flowers

Definitely get the app, it's brilliant!

I'm now craving a 'spoons curry. They're bloody lovely and, unlike most other things on the menu, I've never had a bad one.

Hope the steak hits the spot op!

RaspberryRipple53 · 03/08/2017 20:47

Oh yes OP go for it! I did this on Sunday just gone, for no other reason that I was feeling a bit hacked off with life. The relationship I had been in for over 4 years finished a couple of months ago,and the new guy I had been seeing for just 3 weeks suddenly 'ghosted' me. So I thought 'sod it'. I had a lovely chick pea, sweet potato and spinach curry, with naan bread and popodums, and a glass of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed it,even though I did want to go to sleep after!

Distractotron · 03/08/2017 20:49

Make sure to read the letters to Tim in the 'Spoons magazine. They are brilliant. I miss our local Wetherspoons (replaced by a gin pub I've never set foot in, in protest/disgust).

GinAndSonic · 03/08/2017 20:51

Order from the app. I regularly eat out alone, I don't even feel self conscious any more. Hope your steak is lovely (yes order pudding too)

Scrumpernickel · 03/08/2017 20:52

Download the Wetherspoons app. You can order from your table!

Grin

That's so clever! But OP aside, are Wetherspoon's customers known for being a bit lazy.

House4 · 03/08/2017 20:52

Ooo great saving on the shoes!
How's the steak?
Flowers for you Raspberry

BlueIsYou · 03/08/2017 20:54

The food is gorgeous.

I ordered the meal from the till but downloaded the App to order my hot Cookie Dough slice with ice cream Grin

Yummy!

Raspberry Sorry to hear it Flowers I'm hoping someone picks you off your feet soon. If not then I hope you're contented.

Men are smelly. Mine showers twice a day but men are smelly. It's true

I think it's to ease congestion / queues at the bar. Makes sense really!

BlueIsYou · 03/08/2017 21:06

Well, I've had my dinner.

It was worth it - But why do I feel like I've been drugged after the desert? The warmth of it makes me want to cosy up and go to sleep Blush

DH is away on his 'stag' (drinks down local pub with mates), but I'm here at my Grandmothers until the big day so can't even go in, have a bath and sleep Envy

Wetherpsoons breakfasts are amazing , we had 2 bacon sandwiches, eggs benedict , and a large full breakfast , 3 OJ , a coffee , and a tea for £20 ( there were 4 of us , not just me )
DShas the app. It's so clever

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/08/2017 21:15

DS has

BlueIsYou · 03/08/2017 21:27

Must admit I'm mega impressed by layout, simplify and ease of the app!

I know your so not supposed to like Wetherspoon's food, but I bloody love it.

The dhal is really good and I love a dirty rack of ribs and coleslaw why the hell did I go veggie

Mrsknackered · 03/08/2017 21:37

*you're Hmm

Bluepansies · 03/08/2017 21:40

I recommend the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for next time

StealingYourWiFi · 03/08/2017 21:45

Good for you OP! The app is fab. We sometimes like to order a single fried egg to a table full of hardened drinkers Grin

Theresnonamesleft · 03/08/2017 21:55

I noticed you get your drinks quicker with the app. Was in there the other day. We didn't move and just seemed to have this endless stream of drinks coming.
Amazing how many don't know about the app. Table opposite didn't. They asked if we were staff/regulars/super heroes as we never moved Grin

Aparantly the warm cookie dough sandwich is awesome. Can never manage a dessert stuffed.
The skin chicken burger should be shelved. A stack of crackers wouldn't be as dry.
