DH not asked to wear the Wedding Outfit - I think it's a bit mean/thoughtless ?

BIL is getting married at the weekend & I've just found out their dad is wearing the wedding suit...my DH (his brother) hasn't been asked. Of course, being a male, he says he's not bothered..

BUT I AM!!! I don't like the fact that he's been left out/not included.

Am I being silly ?

Do you know why? Maybe it's to do with budget.
Is he the best man? If not he probably wouldn't be expected to where the same.

i find the whole male 'wedding party' wearing the same 'suit' corny and a bit common tbh

but then im scottish and here each male wears his own clan tartan kilt

As far as i know the groom and bestman wear the same suit...is their dad the best man?

Ok, when we got married, the morning suit was worn by the groom, best man, groomsman and the two Dads, no-one else. I think you are being a tad unreasonable.

Sorry, I agree with Nailpolish. all men wearing the same suit to a wedding looks naff.

No, his dad isn't doing anything other than be his dad.

At my wedding I included BIL, for no other reason than I didn't want him to be left out

Know how you feel. MY DH was an usher at his brothers wedding. But he was the only one not to be included at the top table - all the others were thier with thier DW or DG's. But they were all SIL friends or brothers.

it won't be all the men, but the men in the wedding party - surely as family, DH would be in the wedding party ?

At our wedding, DH, best man, groomsman, page boys & ushers wore suits. As did the 2 dads.

Has your dh any part to play?

If he's not being Best Man, or giving the bride away or any role in the wedding party, then what's the fuss. I think you are being unreasonable. Surely by not wearing it, then you are saving a bit of money as you won't have to pay for the hire of it?

Well - MIL told us we had to have BIL as bestman as they were brothers - he let us down 2 weeks before the wedding saying he was shy of the speech - so we had to eat humble pie with bestfriend and ask him - he was first choice anyway. - I had all gifts engraved and everything - was not happy!

The when BIl got married DH was just an usher as SIL has her best friend as bridesmaid and her partner as bestman - made for lovely photos as they were a nice foursome I'm sure!!

Not so angry with SIL anymore, just cross with MIL for interfering and causing bad feeling between us for a while!

Make sure your BIL is not just going along with his DF wishes for an easy life and is oblivious to the fact his brother has been left out of the suit thing!

Unless he's an usher or best man, no he shouldn't wear it. And if he did, everyone would assume he was part of the wedding party, and ask him for orders of service, directions to the reception, where the loos are etc... I'm not surprised he's not bothered!

BIL wore the outfit at our wedding,just for the sake of being included - he didn't do anything (he never does !)

Yeah, I guess I'm being silly - I just feel he's being left out - I like everyone to be included & so I (wrongly) assume everyone else feels the same.

fgs go and enjoy the wedding and stop worrying about who is wearing what...
