Is spending £50 a fortnight on cannabis excessive? I don't go out, I hardly drink, and I don't really spend any money on myself other than my habit. How much do you all spend on luxuries like cigarettes, alcohol or cannabis?

Sounds ok. You are not hurting anyone, I spend more on wine and coffee. Far worse things in life than a bit of weed.

thebigbluedustbin · 31/07/2017 23:03

If you live somewhere where cannabis is legal, then I see no problem with this at all.

If it is not legal where you are, big problem.

itsbetterthanabox · 31/07/2017 23:11

I don't smoke or smoke weed.
I drink very rarely- less than once a month. Maybe at weddings, birthdays.
I've seen weed mess up so many of my friends. I hate it now.

TippyTinkleTrousers · 31/07/2017 23:12

I don't think that's too excessive, no.

I spend way more per month on wine. 😳

Beelzebop · 31/07/2017 23:14

Seems fine to me.

WasabiNell · 31/07/2017 23:18

If you can afford it, no it's not excessive. I spend around the same.

Paddington68 · 31/07/2017 23:30

It will screw you up.

TippyTinkleTrousers · 01/08/2017 00:00

That sounds very definite Paddington

Out all the people I know who drink, and all the people I know who smoke, it's the drinkers that have more issues among them than the smokers.

MissAlligned · 01/08/2017 00:04

don't do luxury drugs. But I do wear Chanel foundation. About £40 every year or two.

Which one? How do you get it to last so long? I use Chanel and need a new one every 6 months. Sad

InDubiousBattle · 01/08/2017 00:06

Are you asking if £25 a week is normal for luxuries?

If so then it totally depends on your income. I have friends who spend at least £150 a month on their hair, be it colouring it, trimmng it or removing it altogether. I spent that much on wine/prosecco last week but won't this week.I don't buy fags or cannabis though.

GirlOnATrainToShite · 01/08/2017 00:07

I probably spend more on booze which is a lot worse for me than Cannabis.

If you are sure it's not affecting your mental health and you can afford it I don't see an issue with it.

ThinkOfTheHorses · 01/08/2017 00:24

Well yes .... weed makes people dopey, stupid and annoying .
It's also illegal.

HiJenny35 · 01/08/2017 00:53

Don't drink, smoke or take drugs.
We go out for a family meal once a week, nothing flash just prezzo or an Indian or a pub lunch.
Everything else we put into the house or trips out, we make sur we take the kids out somewhere special one day every week (a zoo or theme day etc) truthfully if it's just you and not affecting anyone else then go for it but if you have a family, bills, people who are relying on you then yes it sounds like a rather bad habit.

DirtyChaiLatte · 01/08/2017 01:11

I don't go out, I hardly drink, and I don't really spend any money on myself other than my habit.

So you just stay home and smoke cannabis? I'm not being judgemental but that doesn't sound like a very fulfilling life to me.
