Bin twats

Rubbish collection day tomorrow...I went out to put my rubbish out in my almost empty bin (live alone) and then managed to find a few more bits, and someone had filled my bin with black bin bags full of rubbish! Unreasonable in my eyes.

@Meowstro well no, because it doesn't work that way here. In your scenario, the person who came home at three would either have a last whip around when they got home and then put it out (unlikely. I can't see wanting to faff about with bins if I came home at three) or did that last whip round before they left, and put the bin out.

Hypotheticals are all good and being cheeky is not on, but all other justifications aside we're a pretty tight cul de sac here, if there are problems we talk to each other fairly easily, so in my case (appreciate that my case is not universal) I'm okay to carry on. Someone in my little nooks will let me know if/when I'm not Smile

this is a problem where we live, as our bins only get emptied three weekly. I'm on a reasonably neighbourly street, and it's definitely only ok if you've checked with the person first. Next-door-neighbour and I have both benefited from the other's spare capacity at one time or another, but you can't assume it's ok - I sometimes nip back out with a late addition.

I rarely put my bins out the night before. I wait until my kitchen bin is full then put it out in the morning and then put the bins out. If someone was to put their stuff in my bin I would be furious as I would be stuck with a bag full of rubbish! Sometimes the binmen pick up extra bags sometimes they dont.

Use your own bin unless you have an agreement with neighbours.

OP get a bin lock to keep the ceeky feckers out Smile

Half empty bin on a fortnightly collection... who are you?! 😂

I wish I had this problem, my bin is usually full days after collection and then we make a trip to the tip once a fortnight with several bags too 😬

missed the point of the thread

My next-door-but-one neighbour once used our garden waste bin and filled it with black bags and concrete. We pay £20 a year for the garden waste disposal. So we put a bike lock on it so the bastards can't use it anymore.

I recycle in boxes too so the bin that went out was just household waste. I think whoever had dumped it (no pun intended) had put a tin of paint in there as there is a trail of something white from the bottom of my driver all the way up the road.

I can't leave doing the bins until the morning as they are collected bang on 7am which is when I am getting ready

We have a fortnightly collection and rarely fill our bin more than half full (family of 3 or 4, depending on whether older daughter is at university or home). Food waste bin (weekly) also usually has plenty of room in it. Recycling bin is usually full. We have reasonable neighbours and have included their stuff on occasion but very rarely. I wouldn't particularly mind if they didn't ask before putting stuff in. If we've got room, there's no harm in their using it.

Bins go out the night before, as they have to be ready for collection by 7am. I usually have some last minute things to add to the recycling or food waste in the morning, like a banana skin or empty milk bottle or orange juice carton, but don't think I ever add stuff to the normal rubbish.

JacquesHammer · 29/07/2017 08:42

Raina rather than assume; ask your neighbour if you can use their bin. If not take rubbish to the tip.

I always put my bin out the night before (has to be out from 6am) and then fill again next morning if not emptied

GirlOnATrainToShite · 29/07/2017 09:17

I do this to my neighbours bin if it's empty just before the wagon arrives to collect it.

They know know and say it's fine - there are two of them and 7 of us.

WeirdnessOfDoom · 29/07/2017 09:20

Half full bin here too, fortnightly collections, one child still in nappies.Recycling bin usually full with rinsed empty tins, milk bottles and cardboard/paper. No food waste here as we're on tight budget, 2 compost bins in the garden for veg/fruit peel.
We live far away from shops so no ready meals, most meals cooked from scratch.
We don't buy stuff with extra packaging and little of junk food(except crisps sometimes), kids live without choco milk and fruit shoots.
