To ask about anxiety

My DH has been to the docs with a lump in his throat. The docs response? You're anxious! I believe the doc because he is a worrier in general and we have a lot going on at the moment, new first baby, moving to a new house (buying and selling in 1 transaction) work is not great but tolerable for him etc etc.

Any tips on anxiety "cures" for someone that does not have full anxiety etc just going through an extraordinary time at the moment and a natural worrier? Hes tried rescue remedy in the past but i hated how it made him smell boozy! And so did he. He doesnt drink so it was just odd for us both. Any other natural or otherwise ideas? Thanks!

So as not to dripfeed the doc went into a lengthy explanation and did a full examination so we have total faith in her diagnosis and it does make sense. She was not trying to fob him off.

Anxiety everyone is self diagnosing themselves these days espically teens thanks to zoella.

Meditation and mindfulness are your answer :)

What? Neither OP or her husband are self diagnosing. GP is. Confused

If it goes down the medication route, propranolol is good for reducing the bodily symptoms of anxiety (it doesn't help what you're thinking, however) and is safe to use. It can even be prescribed online (legally) if you fill out a questionaire about your symptoms, etc.

Sorry that wasn't aimed at you more at the gp and in general.

Following this out of interest OP, as I also would find it useful to find and try out some anti-stress strategies :) hope your DH feels better soon Flowers

A physical lump he can touch on the outside? Not to alarm you, OP, but if so, get a second opinion. My best friend (male) was shaving one day, felt a lump was having a thyroidectomy for invasive follicular cancer of the thyroid. Many doctors put stuff down to anxiety (esp if you have a history). I'd get him to see another doctor.

should say 'days later he was having the op'

ShmooBooMoo · 27/07/2017 12:18
