I'd be tempted to stick a sign up saying customers of xxx business do not have permission to park here.

You should post on their facebook page something like "to be clear our driveway should not be used and/or blocked at all even for a second when you are visiting this business, it has been logged with police and council and if it persists we will be going down the harassment route" because for all you know he is telling his clients to park there, if they know not to from the horses mouth they may think twice if he doesn't delete it

DreamingofItaly · 01/08/2017 10:18

Good for you OP!! I've followed your tribulations with interest as I think DH is about to start a war with our CFN over parking. Yes fellow MN, should it begin, I'll post diagrams with bells on!! 😁

Hope CFN concedes defeat but I fear he may not...

HashiAsLarry · 01/08/2017 10:31

Well done alpha and alphadh

HSMMaCM · 01/08/2017 10:33

Make sure you send us a link dreaming.

I can't believe the neighbours thought it'd be ok to remove the chain so their customers can carry on parking there !

Theycalledmethewildrose · 01/08/2017 10:57

I wonder if cameras will really help though? The cheeky neighbours will say that they aren't responsible for where other people park so unless the council get involved and go after them for running a business without adequate parking facilities but with only one of their neighbours objecting, I wonder if they will act on it?

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 11:06

@Theycalledmethewildrose they can say they are t responsible as much as they like, but from a planning and highways perspective, if a home-run business is causing disruption (especially traffic/parking disruption) they will be required to relocate their business.

Hissy · 01/08/2017 11:06

Have you checked their website/FB page etc to see if they are stating that there is parking and to park in your drive?

Could you get a colleague to ring up and see what services they offer, and where they are etc and what the parking situation is like? See what they are saying?

Theycalledmethewildrose · 01/08/2017 11:37

Ginger I know but my point is that only one neighbour is having ongoing issues. Will the council act on that basis?

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 01/08/2017 11:42

I would happily volunteer to ring up and pretend to be a potential customer to get their reaction.

They sound like utter twunts

CFN is most certainly dickhead trying it on. They have been a PITA since they started their business and several neighbours have complained to the council but no action. Today has culminated in several neighbours all telling me their problems with CFN. We have all lived here 5+ yrs and since this business started it has been nothing but hassle to all of us.

Mix56 · 01/08/2017 12:09

Hahaha, so chuffed ! assume there is a big fuck off padlock ???

Theycalledmethewildrose · 01/08/2017 12:19

Thanks Scaredy. I forgot that part, I've read this since the first post on the original thread. Hopefully the neighbours will work together then to all report again at the same time as the more that object at once, the higher the likelihood of action being taken sooner than later.

gingergenius · 01/08/2017 12:30

@Theycalledmethewildrose there are issues with other neighbours as described much much earlier I think.

piefacedClique · 01/08/2017 12:32

I was thinking signs like these could work? Obviously attached to the big fuck off chain?

The tyres are confiscated till the car owner plays nicely and gets off the drive, if you don't play nicely the grown ups will take things x

Lweji · 01/08/2017 12:41

What tyres?
I think they have been chequed too.

HSMMaCM · 01/08/2017 13:08

Why would they even think they could remove the entrance to your drive? Would they like you to remove their front door and invite guests to sit in their living room?

ShotsFired · 01/08/2017 13:35

Every time I read one of these types of things, I am reminded again just how all-consuming and draining neighbour problems are.

For anyone who has never experienced issues, this seems silly or fun or just a PITA. But when you are living it, it just takes over your life and can be terribly demoralising and upsetting.

I count my lucky stars every day that I don't have to live where I used to. Stay strong @AlphaBites.

Lorddenning1 · 01/08/2017 14:54

Lostinaseaofbubbles · 01/08/2017 15:16

Agree with shots fired. The parking issues at my old house were so bad that a private driveway was a non-negotiable when we bought our current house. If someone then started using my driveway I'd be livid.

A neighbour started parking across my drive for a while because someone kept parking in "his spot" and he didn't want to park further down the road because he said he needed to keep an eye on his vehicle because it contains tools. (His house doesn't have a driveway and his "spot" is just where he tends to park along a public road). I soon told him how unacceptable it was and yes, he still gives me evils but he doesn't park over my drive!!

IggyAce · 01/08/2017 15:27

Cfn are really taking the pee, i would have loved to have seen you shouting out of the window at the idiots.
