To ask how to get hair dye off skin...

Posting for traffic

Somehow managed to get hair due on my skin and now I look like an avatar. Never had hair dye stain my skin like this before and also hair dropped forward and got more on me. Bloody Schwarzkopf Live.

Any ideas on how to get rid?

And I don't wear / own a speck of makeup so that isn't an answer

This is a bit gross, but works and I've not done it for years, but if you possibly can, put some fag ash on a cotton wool pad and rub it in.

DonaldStott · 25/07/2017 21:13

If you post in style and beauty, you may get some better answers than mine though lol.

RagamuffinAndFidget · 25/07/2017 21:14

Baby wipes! Just scrub and scrub with baby wipes. Baby lotion on cotton wool can work too.. or if you've got any of those make up remover wipes they're also good.

Regular hair-dyer here, had to de-pink/purple/orange/blue/green/whatever myself a fair few times! Grin

Washing up liquid on a cotton bud and massage it in, Johnstons baby shampoo has also taken it off for me. My hairdresser swears by toner, I know you've no makeup in the house.

Mouikey · 25/07/2017 21:16

That blue setting lotion is perfect for getting it off - smells, but works like a dream (my hairdresser recommended it years ago!)

hana32 · 25/07/2017 21:18

Nail varnish remover works well for this!

Aridane · 25/07/2017 21:20

Time works [not helpful]

Drivemecrazy1974 · 25/07/2017 21:20

If you have any of the hair dye left, rub that over the dye- hair dye actually removes hair dye - if it's been on for a while - a small amount of nail polish remover will do the job - rinse well afterwards though...

VelvetSpoon · 25/07/2017 21:20

Another vote for baby wipes. Or actually any kind of wipes may have used antibac surface wipes once in extremis

Dmacka75 · 25/07/2017 21:21

Shampoo gets it off x

snuffykins · 25/07/2017 21:22

I use the clean and clear black head remover. I used the schwarzkopf live colour the other week and used this to remove the dye from skin after. Got it all off. Granted it wasn't the blue one though.

flutterbean · 25/07/2017 21:22

Vaseline on the area, let it soak in for a while then scrub with baby wipes/face wipes.

Always worked for me in the past!! I know put vaseline on my hairline/round my neck when dying my hair and it just wipes off.

Drivemecrazy1974 · 25/07/2017 21:22

An exfoiliating soap will also work on stubborn stains too.... Also, a tip for next time you colour your hair, try putting Vaseline or Sudocrem in the areas that might get stained, it acts as a good barrier to prevent staining...

Theymisheardme · 25/07/2017 21:23

Ok so no toner, nail varnish removed or comment in my style and beauty post. Will try baby wipes and baby lotion if I can sneak into the toddlers room

Makeup remover

lightgreenglass · 25/07/2017 21:29

I normally get back in the shower and use a scour if I'm really desperate. Baby wipes work immediately if you've just got it on you.

For next time, put Vaseline around the edge of your hairline and don't go over the vaselined area.

Theymisheardme · 25/07/2017 21:44

Haha in never dying again i swear!!!

Had a scrub with baby lotion and baby wipes. Will have another shower in the morning. And live in a hat.

Don't own makeup or nail varnish remover

if you have any wax strips then the wax removing wipes work brilliantly

Theymisheardme · 25/07/2017 21:47

On my ears????

Dove bar soap always works to get hair dye off me. Good luck

PatMullins · 25/07/2017 21:49

Micellar water! Works brilliantly, safer for skin than nail varnish remover.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 25/07/2017 21:49

Use a scourer. It might hurt a bit but it'll come off with the top layer of your skin

DeadGood · 25/07/2017 21:51

Toothpaste?
