Feeling all warm and fuzzy cuddling my dog and thought- would love to know what makes you happy? Smile

Hopefully I'm not being too unreasonable asking Grin

Sneaking a small glass of wine late afternoon.
Watching the garden birds from my kitchen window.
First cup of coffee in the morning.
Smell of DDs after bath.
Getting summer clothes out of storage.

JoyceDivision · 23/07/2017 17:48

Gin
Books
Checking on DCs and seeing them fast asleep when they have almost 'newborn' baby faces even though they are at school...love seeing them so well rested
Food
Rain, thunder and lightening
Shoes, especially converse
Nice dinky earrings

LexieLulu · 23/07/2017 19:01

My 8 month old cocker spaniel got scabies from a recent kennel stay, took the vets 4 visits to diagnose so she's got a lot of bald patches and feeling very sorry for herself Sad drugs are making her drowsy so I'm enjoying cuddles.

We cannot move for another couple of years unfortunately, combination of a clause in our mortgage (buy out fee before 2019) and over spending when I was on maternity leave. So it'll be 2-3 years before we can move Sad

What's your new house like? I bet that is lovely, almost having a new house and planning what you're going to do with it all! I am very jealous xx

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 23/07/2017 19:05

Being at home, with my DP and DDog. I love our house itself, I love where we are (right by the sea), my DP works crazy hours so any time spent with him is precious, my DDog is squishy and I love him and I'm just a homebody through and through. Especially in winter.

peachgreen · 23/07/2017 19:44

My DH, mostly. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and pretty miserable as it's been a tough pregnancy but DH has been my solid rock of joy and happiness throughout. He never fails to make me laugh.

Pre-pregnancy I would have added hot baths, Prosecco, delicious food, London, sunny pub gardens, great theatre, amazing music and my best pals. I'm hoping that I'll get SOME of that back at some stage!

IDoDaChaCha · 23/07/2017 20:06

Aww Lexie big cuddles for your dog Flowers hope she gets better soon xx it's not a 'dream house' by any stretch of the imagination: it's a 3 bed terraced significantly below the 'national average house price' - but I'm so grateful I'm getting it (family are helping- been unhappy in HA for around 14yrs). I'm on a shoe string so I'll be doing most stuff myself, including rebuilding the shed roof Shock as I can't afford the £300 the surveyor quoted. So I'll be painting, doing diy etc as a single mama to 17mo DD. Will be tough but I'm up for a challenge. Budget dictates!! I'm ex bankrupt from my first house mortgage (ex husband ran off & left me with mortgage too big for me alone) and it's been a dream of mine for nearly 10yrs to own my own home again- and it's coming true! Aww big hugs hang in there while you're waiting, I know how hard it can be to not be happy where you are (I've had ASB so bad I've been given band 1 emergency rehousing). It'll come round, look at me nearly 10yrs later - just keep plugging away Flowers

Missb00 · 23/07/2017 20:34

Sitting on the sofa having a cuddle with DH and our 2 dogs. That's my blissfully happy place.

frankie001 · 23/07/2017 20:46

Not being at work always makes me happy.

Spending time with my friends dogs ( I can take or leave my actual friends!).

LexieLulu · 23/07/2017 21:21

Just think how amazing it's going to be when you have that set of keys, knowing you did it! Well done OP x

derxa · 23/07/2017 21:29

My DH and DSs. I've had another health crisis and I know they will support me 100%.
My sheep. I've just walked round them. The lambs are doing so well and the show tup is brilliant.
My new car which is gadget heaven.

Composteleana · 23/07/2017 21:39

My DP, most days anyway Grin He can always make me laugh and he makes me feel safe.

My dog, I just love him so so much, his little face looking at me like 'what's happening now then?' or seeing him scamper gleefully around the woods, all just makes my chest feel tight I love him so much.

Time with my siblings and little nieces and nephews.

Holidays.

A stack of books waiting to be read.

Autumn - I do like summer but love Autumn.

Friends.

Singing at full volume to 90s indie hits when in the car (alone cos I'm a terrible singer!)

MotherofPearl · 23/07/2017 22:04

Getting to the bottom of the ironing pile.
Ticking things off my work 'to do' list.
DD2 speed-crawling towards me with a huge grin on her face when I fetch her from nursery.
Watching DS peacefully playing with his Lego.
Cake. Red wine.
Playing Cluedo with DD1.
Scrubbing my kitchen floor.
Hot water bottles on cold nights.

Sunshineface123 · 23/07/2017 22:04

Baby's smile when she sees my face in the morning
Easter egg and a cuppa
The smell of rain on concrete
Old people holding hands
Long chats with friends and family in person or on the phone
A book you can't put down
Lots of things!!

sadmonkey1 · 23/07/2017 22:05

A long catch up with a dear friend or my mum, preferably with a few glasses of wine. My lovely snuggly DP. Being near or in water. Storms or warm sunshine. Sewing, either looking through my vintage pattern collection and deciding what to make or seeing a project or new skill come together. Cooking, specially for people I care about. Speaking in another language and actually making myself understood. Long solitary walks. Doing well at work. Feeling myself get gradually fitter and slimmer again after a recent period of health problems.

needsomesunshineandwine · 23/07/2017 22:13

Fresh sheets
Clean house

Wine can't wait for a small cold white wine
Food

HeteronormativeHaybales · 23/07/2017 22:19

My dc. Watching my boys rush around, bubbling over with creative ideas; cuddling and bf my toddler with her lovely smile and shining eyes.
Singing.
An evening with good friends and good wine.
The cool, sweet air after a summer rain shower.
Paddling in water - the sea is best, but a lake or pool fine too.
Doing a piece of work and knowing I have done a great job.

IDoDaChaCha · 24/07/2017 07:45

I commute by train between home (national park) and a major NW city. There's a part of my journey home where you finally leave behind the urban sprawl and the view from the window is suddenly filled by a large, lush valley, surrounded by impossibly green and high hills, expansive blue skies, the occasional farm chimney smoking.

It makes my heart sing.

echt · 24/07/2017 08:10

I'm in Australia, so for me it's the first time cicadas start up in the evening after winter. They only start when the temperature hits a certain level, so it's rather like the first cuckoo.

Kookaburras have recently moved into the area I live in, and I'm instantly happy when I hear them revving up in the morning.
