I strongly believe to a certain extent that babies are either good sleepers or bad sleepers. But at what age do you think you can affect this? And how?

Dd1 was a type 3. She didn't sleep through the night until she was 4!

Dd2 is probably a type 2, but I literally haven't bothered trying anything because I wasted so much time and stress trying get dd1 to sleep, and NOTHING worked!

Dd2 was still a better sleeper than dd1 despite inconsistent routine and no expectations of her to 'self-soothe'. It's been so much less stress (and more sleep) just going to her when she wants me, letting her sleep with me if she wants to, and letting go of sleep expectations altogether!

only fatal flaw with that plan is im a very lone parent.

my toddler is type 3, i suspect baby is type 2

dd and ds were both horrendous sleepers. I extended up co-sleeping with them for a very long time. They are 13 and 10 now and both excellent sleepers. I did not really do anything except go with the flow. They all get there in the end.

Ah sorry -my assumption!

Ok so then baby into your room and you give a bottle of water and cuddles but no milk. Night weaning basically.

There will be tears for a bit
