We all have stuff that gets on our nerves with our other half but I hadn't really noticed until recently how often DH will say " I was merely saying" or " I was merely trying to help" & honestly I could deck him sometimes! Does anyone get where I'm coming from? And what expressions really bug you with you DH or DP?

Mine tries to tell me what I should say in upcoming situations. He always gets told "if that's what you want to say, you go and talk to them/make the phone call". He doesn't.

Msqueen33 · 22/07/2017 06:35

The wife! Or he'll use me instead of my like 'me phone'. He also can't pronounce his th so will say barf instead of bath. It really fucks me off.

Dontknowwherethelineis · 22/07/2017 06:40

Pennies when he means money. 'that costs a lot of pennies', 'I don't have enough pennies for that' etc. I know technically you could say it's correct but why not just say money? It sounds really infantile to me and it grates!

TheStoic · 22/07/2017 06:40

Mine used to put a condescending Yeah at the end of sentences, like: 'You know Star Wars and Star Trek are two different thing, yeah?' Ummm...yeah. I do.

He doesn't do that anymore. Grin

DownUdderer · 22/07/2017 06:42

My dh says 'I don't know what to do with this' or 'I don't know how, blah blah'. I used to always reply to him, but then it dawned on me that it's just his turn of phrase. He says it regardless he knows or doesn't know. I literally don't reply to him when he says it now.
