Shamelessly posting for traffic - can someone explain Amazon Instant Video to me?!

And i mean explain it as if you were talking to the biggest muppet on the planet?

I am a total technophobe - i call people on a phone, i watch programmes via a dvd on the tv, i take photos on a camera. i do not understand combining these activities onto one 'device'. i don't own and have never used an 'i' anything. Just to set the scene for how basic i will need this explaining!!

DH and i have been watching a series on DVD and have found out that series 5 and 6 are only available on amazon instant video. we really want to watch the rest but no idea how!

So please, in idiot terms, explain to me what/how i go about doing this?!

Thank you!

The fire stick comes with a remote, also has voice control.

So, with the firetv stick, when you plug it in you enter your Amazon account details (and a PIN to protect it). Then you can buy through there with "one click" (it'll use your default credit card). Then it will "belong" to your Amazon account and you can watch them on the firetv stick (or on your tablets/phones/computer).

It's very easy to use (well, I think so), although I've not bought anything on it, merely used Prime.

Pretty video showing it here

You'll need to make sure your TV is tuned to the right "source" when you plug in the Fire Stick. On your TV remote there should be a button called "source" - it'll look something like this: www.google.co.uk/search?q=source+button+remote&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjV2LD2mZrVAhXCIJoKHcZXAPAQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=960

There are several "sources" a TV can use - the analogue tuner, digital tuner etc and also each of the HDMI slots. You need to cycle through until you find the right HDMI slot (the one you've plugged the Fire Stick in to - it should be labelled). Then it will all load and you'll be able to navigate it with your Fire Stick remote.

Come back if you get stuck!

Also Cougar Town does indeed have a terrible title - but it's so much better than the title suggests, isn't it?!

Thanks so much peach have printed the page as my reference as i will otherwise have forgotten it all by the time the fire stick arrives!

We were really sceptical but loved Scrubs and its by the same people so thought we'd give it a punt! we now have 'penny can!' as part of our daily vernacular! I may have also named my wine glass....he's called Big Jack Grin
