To think it's unreasonable to have a heated swimming pool in Brisbane mid drought?

Hi,

we are going to Brisbane to see our families, and SIL has kindly offered us the use of her heated swimming pool.

They are currently in the middle of a one in a thousand year drought, and the world is getting hotter...

Am I being unreasonable to think it's unreasonable to have a heated swimming pool in Brisbane given the current water shortage and climate change?

Would depend on how much water was needed to keep it full. I don't suppose emptying it would help the drought anyway.

hmmm, not sure on this one. Seems a bit silly to have it hearted, but it is probably solar heated, they mostly are. As fof the water...hmmm. Onece its full I don't think it needs too much topping up if they use a cover to prevnt evapouration, and it is very, very hot in summer in Brissy. If I had a pool I would use it.

Can't imagine why she'd need a heated swimming pool in Brisbane. The summer is hot enough, and winter not really cold enough to justify. Go enjoy the sunshine coast instead.

Sunshine coast...mmmmmm....... Love the Sunshine Coast .

We had a swimming pool when I was growing up and I remember dad spending a lot of time each night getting the chemistry right and it did seem like the hose was always in the pool topping it up (pre-drought days of course!).

I'll have to find it if they do use solar energy. That might change my opinion

I don't think they're very water conscious anyway. Even when they lived in London they didn't understand about not watering gardens and thought paying £135 a year for unlimited water was a rip-off (and believe me they're not paupers...)

Maybe it's just a case of .....
