To ask you to rate these cordless vacuums?

Looking for a cordless vacuum as have a small house and my trusty old Henry is a nightmare to lug up and down the stairs all the time.

Hoping for something light I can pick up whenever I need and just vacuum up.

It's all stone floors downstairs so I think any vac will do but the stair case and all the rooms upstairs are all carpeted and we also have a dog - he doesn't really molt but there's a bit of fluff here and there so need a bit of decent suction.

Have a small budget and can't afford a dyson or anything like that so I realise it's a bit of a challenge but I have found these to be within my budget.
Anyone have/has had these in the past? Any good? Or any better suggestions?

Budget ideally £100 but can possibly stretch up to £150ish.

I am just having a break after using my hoover stick vacuum. I think it's amazing and I would give it 10 out of 10. But I had never used Shark, it might be even better. I stopped using upright Dyson all together after getting the stick for the stairs. Now I am using it everywhere in the house.

Sorry for using word "using" so many times 😂

I Have that exact hoover one and it's brilliant! Only have carpets upstairs and use it every morning, much more frequently than dragging out my old corded monstrosity. Charges quickly and at least twenty minutes suction, easy to empty no faffing about. I love it, paid €89 euro for it on sale in my local supermarket.

snoopypoodle · 20/07/2017 13:43

@user1471529054 that's what I'm hoping for re the more frequent cleaning!

I know my Henry is probably going to trump most of them when it comes to suction strength but I hope with a cordless I'll be hoovering here and there daily and the mess won't be as worked into the carpet and not as hard to bring up.

Pretty sure the Shark isn't cordless, I ordered one from Argos a while back and sent it back as it's corded but it's not overly clear. Possibly was a different model to this but check the description.

Bosch athlet copes in my house with four adults three large dogs and six cats.

justilou · 20/07/2017 14:07

The shark isn't cordless, but it's awesome. (We have a very big, very hairy dog and we have choked two dysons but nothing phases the shark!)

snoopypoodle · 20/07/2017 14:12

@fenneltea unfortunately Bosch just slightly over our budget ATM Sad

Thank you to the people who pointed out the shark not being cordless! It's really cheeky it comes up at the top of the search for cordless vacuum!

Ah, sorry snoopy, I got mine in a sale a while ago so assumed it would be in your range.

HappyGirlNow · 20/07/2017 14:24

Dyson cordless is amazing 👍🏻

KosmoKramer · 20/07/2017 14:28

My Bosch athelet was only £109 from Currys. It's brilliant.

pascalpascal · 20/07/2017 14:29

Like you say Snoopy, you can't beat a Henry. They are heavy though.
In additon to my Henry I have a GTEC Air Ram (again probably over budget...) but I decided to take it to work to use, and get the lastest model Air Ram for home. In the end I saw a Bosch Athlet All Floor (as mentioned above too) which was a reconditioned unit/factory return and was around your budget if my memory serves me right. It is a great vacuum, easy to empty, but the charge doesn't last as long as the GTEC, but saying that, I easily always get my house (a mixture of tiled floors and rugs downstairs and carpets upstairs) before it goes flat.

yikesanotherbooboo · 20/07/2017 14:30

We got brilliant Bosch Athlet for close to £100 in a sale last summer

CappuccinoSprinkles · 20/07/2017 14:30

I have an AEG CX7 Animal that has a good review on Good Housekeeping and you can get for £150 in Argos at the moment. I really like it, you can use it as an upright or pull out a smaller dust buster style vacuum. Picks up well on carpet and my hard wood floors. Two speed settings.

We got a Bosch when it was in the sale. It's brilliant! So much easier and does a good job. You must clean the filters well otherwise it looses suction.
