I hadn't read this book so thought I would give it a go as read so many good reviews about it. I'm about a quarter of the way through and finding it so dull. Nothing is happening. Have I missed something? Should I stick it out?

JustGettingStarted, when I reread a book I find that I can savour the writing much more than when I am reading it for the first time. There are bits that I have forgotten about or missed (or missed the significance of).

I do feel cheated if I reread something trashy by accident.

It took me a few tries to read Catcher in the Rye but it was worth it. I might read it again but I passed my copy on.

Usually, if I read a book and can't be arsed to read more than the first few pages I give up.

Fun Fact: Dill Harris was based on Truman Capote.

One of the dullest and tedious books I've ever read. The film was overrated, too.

I wasn't keen on the book or the film. It's good we don't all like the same stuff or life would be very very dull.
