Should I take him or not?

Ds comes to work with me. We're currently on a two week break and return back Monday.

Haven't really done much wth ds as he's wanted to stay in and relax more than anything, but today we had decided to go to Richmond Park as the weather was supposed to be beautiful.

Well. The weather in east London is a bit rubbish, cloudy and dark and a little wind.

Would I be unreasonable to take him or should not bother?

We've never been before and I'm wandering about the terrain, have no wellie boots and not sure where we'd find some at this time of year...

It's supposed to hit 25 degrees today in East London despite the cloudy start.

But even not, just go, take a change of clothes incase he gets wet and muddy and just have fun exploring

PetalMettle · 19/07/2017 06:53

How old is he? It'll be muddy even if it doesn't rain today after last night. Could you do something else?

BrutusMcDogface · 19/07/2017 06:58

There are plenty of wellies in the shops, if that's a problem? I'd absolutely take him!

By the way, just out of nosiness curiosity, what job do you do?

toughduck · 19/07/2017 07:01

I'm a nanny, ds is 5!

Ahh I'm so conflicted, ok, so what shops will have some wellies?

Sainsbury's, Asda, Matalan...toms of shops have them

MrsBobDylan · 19/07/2017 07:04

Sainsburys had them a few days ago when I was in.

geekone · 19/07/2017 07:05

You have stayed in and relaxed for a week and a half??? Hmm
Please take him to the park get some fresh air rain or shine.

PetalMettle · 19/07/2017 07:05

Mothercare do them. Alternatively if you're east why trek over to Richmond park? Victoria park and then if it starts raining childhood museum

toughduck · 19/07/2017 07:05

Ok brilliant thanks! We will go then, after a trip to sainsburys! Thank you all

@geekone well, if we'd have stayed in the full week and a half that would of been a bit much! What I mean when I say that is that we haven't done anything major, he's done his Tae Kwon Do and swam twice a week and we've been across the road to the park, and one time to a trampolining place. But we're usually quite active with all day long bike rides and larger trips like this one, so it seems rather quiet to us

@PetalMettle The idea was to go somewhere new to play and explore, we like to venture out 😃

Grin ah I see I couldn't stand staying in and relaxing for that length of time. I do taekwondo too with my DS (7) love it. Have a great day.

Ceto · 19/07/2017 07:31

There's plenty of terrain in Richmond Park which is firm and dry, but if he will want to play on the grass and particular if you go to the area around the Pen Ponds he will need wellies.

Kpo58 · 19/07/2017 07:34

There are paths round much of Richmond Park. Make sure that he has trousers on and covered feet and ankles due Lyme's disease.
