To not be worried

Namechanged.

My 12 week old DD is a big contented baby she has been perfect from day 1 no hint of illness and sleeps and feeds really well. She was overdue and was 98th percentile and has stayed perfectly on her growth curve. The model baby my HV keeps saying. This is no brag just context!

Saturday she didnt poo, thats ok babies don't have to poo everyday, she wasn't bloated or seemed unhappy etc. Yesterday every nappy had a poo of some sort even just the size of a 50p right up to a full blown nappy filler. She fed and slept well, had no temperature (kept checking) and was happy in herself.

Today so far has been the same, every nappy has a poo of some sort but again she slept through, has napped and fed well and has got no temperature and is very happy playing on her play mat etc. I keep feeling like i should ask GP or someone if something could be wrong but instinct tells me shes fine and something would be amiss with her temperature or her feeding her her behaviour if she was unwell. AIBU to just keep an eye on her or should i phone GP etc? Thanks

My baby did this for a week around 17 weeks and then his two first teeth popped through. Nappies back to normal now
I was so worried and took him to dr, dr wasn't concerned as he had no temperature and said he thought it was due to teething.

Baby wasn't bothered by so many dirty nappies but did get a bit of nappy rash and I used about a million nappies that week!

I have suspected teething as her hands are always in her mouth and she has been dribbling a bit more. But no interest yet in chewing stuff even though I've bought her teething toys etc.

Breastfed or bottle fed? Asking as it can be normal for breastfed babies to go anything up to ten days. This is because there's very little waste from breast milk.

Tingotango · 17/07/2017 13:30

No bottle fed formula from birth, sadly not able to breastfeed for medical reasons.

He always had his hands in his mouth too and Is currently ff. still not interested in teething rings and still constantly trying to stuff both hands in his mouth. I think the teething rings seem to make him gag

But if you're worried I'd speak to hv or make a Drs appt

Mother's instinct tells you all is well - so it most likely is. And from your description of things it all sounds good. So glad you have such a contented baby.

Scoobygang7 · 17/07/2017 16:40

Apologies if I offended asking as obviously different ways of feeding affects output in different ways.

It could be teething, it could also be the weather if it's nice and warm where you are. I'd not be too concerned as long as it not very watery what she's passing. As that could indicate she may be constipated and is overflowing looser stools from above. Just keep doing what you're doing and if you're still concerned contact your hv or gp.

Tingotango · 17/07/2017 17:23

Thanks, no not offended at all.

I did speak to GP just in case and he said if no temp and still seems herself etc then not to worry just keep an eye on her.

My DD used to poo with every milk at that age. She's still a right old crap machine at 16mo. I think some kids just like a good clear out

Grin made me laugh out loud! Thanks
