To be worried about DS teeth?

DS is 8.5 months and so far has no teeth. However last night his top lateral incisor cut through. Everything I have read says the central incisors should come through first, usually the bottom then top.

Do I need to be concerned that he has his tooth as his first one?

I wouldn't worry at all. Everyone is different. My kids teeth came through a lot later than everyone else's, and I never paid any attention to which ones came through first. You never see kids without any teeth later on do you? It's a bit like people comparing and worrying about when their children learn to walk. You very rarely see adults who can't walk do you?

Dd didn't get any teeth until 11.5 months, and similarly it was her top ones that came through first. She is now 3 with a perfect set of teeth, so I wouldn't worry.

My DH is an dentist and says not to worry. In and of its self, it is unusual but everyone's anatomy is different. Our one year old has similar. He just let an eye on her to check that all of her teeth can work through, which they did

Any worries, just as your dentist to monitor which they should be happy to do

Thank you. DS is on the waiting list for my dentist but it's likely to be able 6 months before he gets to the top of the list! I naively assumed he would be put on automatically as a child so didn't enquiry until a few weeks ago.

Just ask when you are in - the dentist shouldn't have any problem having a quick look and Hugh g a bit of advice; it's part of normalising attending
