It's been a rough week, well and truly emotionally and physically exhausted and in need of some self care.

How do you each look after yourself and chill in the middle of stress. I have a few hours to myself

Tbh when I feel overwhelmed I have a hot shower and have a nap! I've had to nap a lot this weekend as I've had a hideous week.

MrsOverTheRoad · 16/07/2017 13:55

Bath, good music that I love...the sort that I wouldn't inflict on my family Grin

And some of my favourite food.

HardplaceandRock · 16/07/2017 13:55

Bath or shower to feel refreshed, make sure I have eaten/drunk (often forget when I am stressed!) then curl up with a good book, I love reading and love nothing more than getting a couple of hours to shut everything else out and get lost in the story. Always feel better after that.

8FencingWire · 16/07/2017 14:00

Bath, music, a bowl of doritos with melted cheese and a good book/movie. Followed by a nap. Mindfulness.
Having my eyebrows threaded, a new lipstick, a browse in the bookshop, a visit to an art gallery. Be kind to yourself op

Ollivander84 · 16/07/2017 14:07

Nap. Or get into bed with a brew, some biscuits and a comfort TV series (buffy for me!)

SaucyJack · 16/07/2017 14:13

I nap hard.

PricklyCactuss · 16/07/2017 14:13

I avoid napping as its all I do when I am depressed and just stay in bed. I think a good shower will help, going to put a hair treatment on and face mask before it

FlowerFairyLights · 16/07/2017 14:15

I've s0ent all weekend in bed with a box set. I don't know how to positively think my way out of it :(

Incitatis · 16/07/2017 14:23

I watch animal videos on YouTube.

BethennyFrankel · 16/07/2017 14:24

Clean sheets, cold water, iPad, Netflix, sleep

Allyg1185 · 16/07/2017 14:26

A nice warm relaxing bath with nice bubbles, comfy jammies then my book with a cup of tea

Penny4UrThoughts · 16/07/2017 14:28

I have a bath, or infrared sauna. Go for a massage or a facial. Or sleep.

AwkwardSquad · 16/07/2017 14:28

Walking. Making sure I eat some good nourishing food. Comfort reading of favourite books. Cut down on caffeine. Small treats like a bunch of flowers or a new mug.

mrsplum2015 · 16/07/2017 14:31

Reading and healthy food.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 16/07/2017 14:31

I lay on my sofa, put something good on the TV and usually drift off into a lovely sleep. I think it relaxes my mind and body Smile

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/07/2017 14:31

All the best OP. I like baths with nice oils and scented candles and relaxing music playing. A glass of something nice goes down well too. Other than this, something natural helps - a nice walk somewhere. If I am feeling flush some retail therapy for something I've long wanted helps (I hate shopping for the sake of it though). Or ice cream? Straight out the tub? I also watch cat videos on youtube because I'm a sad fuck

OverTheHammer · 16/07/2017 14:34

I take the dog for a walk in the overgrown, abandoned fields. I can pretend I'm in the wilderness in blissful isolation (on my stranger days I pretend I'm in the army and lost in Vietnam 😂)

Other than that, shower, full moisturiser, face mask, bit of good perfume and maybe a glass of wine.

Now and again, I binge play computer games.

statetrooperstacey · 16/07/2017 14:36

I started getting my nails done six ish months ago it takes about 40 mins, it feels frivolous? But that's not quite the right word?! Unnecessary perhaps. That makes it feel nice, like I have done it for no other reason than to look good. and every single thing I do after with my nice nails looks pretty if you know what I mean.
I naturally have bitten shredded nails and sides of finger, also hairy! Now they are lovely and u can't bite them.!
Getting money out of purse, nice hands, doing up kids laces, buckles, belts zips, cooking opening doors, all look shiny and tidy and coral instead of hobo Smile makes me happy.
Hypnotherapy cd on headphones, lots on amazon.
Animal videos on youtube also as someone above.

supersop60 · 16/07/2017 14:39

Coffee, cake and a book in a cafe. If I can get a window seat, so much the better.
Oh, or a walk along the canal or nature reserve, which i sometimes do before work if it's a late start. I'm lucky that there's a place like this about 5 mins from work.

FloppingflipsFly · 16/07/2017 14:42

bumping for more great ideas

Hassled · 16/07/2017 14:43

Going for a walk or a swim always helps me. It feels like an insane amount of effort at times but it's always worth it.

Rinkidink · 16/07/2017 14:45

I second the nap hard.

And a good book, somewhere very quiet.

AnnetteCurtains · 16/07/2017 14:45

Meditate and excercise
Hope you feel better soon OP

helly29 · 16/07/2017 14:49

Playing with my makeup - I could do this all evening, trying out looks/tutorials I'll probably never wear outside of the house.

Reading or audiobook, running, coffee and cake.
Hope you feel better soon Flowers

PricklyCactuss · 16/07/2017 14:49
