AIBU to think if you're embarrassed to speak to someone when wearing pyjamas, you should get dressed

I was giving a lift to a friend of dd16. The boy told dd his mother wanted to talk to me when I picked him up. All fine. I like to have at least met parents where possible.

We got to the meeting point. I pulled in but she stayed in her car so I got out to have a chat. She was wearing pyjamas and a bathrobe. I mentioned I was pleased she had wanted to speak as I like to meet the friends' parents. She told me that when we pulled in, she told her ds he was off the hook for her speaking to me as I was dressed and therefore she wasn't getting out of the car to speak to me. I just found it a bit odd that she would arrange to speak to me but then turn up not dressed and even more odd that she seemed to expect I would be wearing the same to pick up other kids and to meet their mother.

YANBU
she probably saw you dressed like a normal person and felt embarrassed because pyjamas are not really going out clothes.

I've done a late night pick up for DH and worn more 'lounge wear' style pyjama bottoms with a howdy and even felt paranoid about somebody realising. But it was the small hours of the morning so didn't care. Outdoors during the day is for day time clothes.

Yes. Throwing a hoodie on top, rather than a bathrobe would at least make it look vaguely like clothes.
