Even though it doesn't exist?

It's so pretty and sweet...

Although lorelei the elder is really bloody annoying

I generally hate the concept of small town living, but Stars Hollow is one I'd make an exception for. I'd love to live there. This show makes me want it to be autumn.

steff13 · 13/07/2017 23:08

No, it makes me want to live there and for it to be perpetually Autumn. It's small but within reasonable driving distance of Hartford and NYC.

steff13 · 13/07/2017 23:09

Me too, indigox!

Excited101 · 13/07/2017 23:14

Ah! Me too, it's a dream of mine ❤️

WitchSharkadder · 13/07/2017 23:18

Yes, Lorelai would live on the Stately Homes thread.

I felt sorry for Richard at first and thought it was Emily driving everything but then became equally pissed off with him after the episode when Christopher's parents came for dinner.

MummysBusy · 13/07/2017 23:29

YANBU, I want to live there too. Although in practice I don't think I could stand it if I was expected to fawn over Lorelai as much as everyone else does. Maybe I could just hang out with Mrs. Kim and Disapprove for a living?

BigSunglasses00 · 13/07/2017 23:31

YANBU. Although I'd probably live anywhere that had Luke running the diner Brew

InfiniteSheldon · 14/07/2017 06:58

Sorry for any spoilers I got excited. And yes Emily is bad but Lorelai is way worse.

Ninabean17 · 14/07/2017 08:02

Our 2nd dd is called Lorelai. We liked the name, not the character!

MetallicBeige · 14/07/2017 08:10

The whole town revolves around Lorelai and Rory, at least once an episode Rory is described as perfect, beautiful, amazing, cleverest person ever... watching it through adult eyes is interesting.

She is sulky, petulant and entitled. She wouldn't be anywhere without Paris reminding her/dragging her along to do extra curriculars to make her more attractive to Yale/ her future career.
Moaning that everybody else worked on local newspapers over the holidays, when she didn't think to do that herself. Some journalist.

I like Paris.

RhubardGin · 14/07/2017 08:14

I would for about a day then I would want to punch Loralei and Rory in the face.

Genuinely the two most annoying TV characters ever created Angry

thedragonflyinn · 14/07/2017 08:31

I think YANBU (hence my username). I do too.

It's the twinkle lights everywhere that does it for me!

PhilODox · 14/07/2017 09:04

"Rory" is a girl??Confused

Defuzzing · 14/07/2017 09:11

"Rory" is a girl??
It's short for lorelei (the narcissistic mother names the child after herself and brings her up to be totally self centred and spoilt like herself)
I was mystified as to why no one other than Emily ever called them on their ridiculous behaviour.
Richard was my favourite when I watched it.

TheSecondOfHerName · 14/07/2017 09:13

Fun for a week, especially if it coincided with some of their seasonal traditions.

Not to live full time.

PhilODox · 14/07/2017 09:25

Shock They're both named Lorelai? She didn't even spell her DD's name correctly.... Wink

PhilODox · 14/07/2017 09:29

Hmm, so I've heard of Gilmore Girls, but never seen it. Am I missing out here? I have a bit of a thing about New England... 7 seasons, presumably there's a boxed set?

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 14/07/2017 09:29

If I lived there I think I'd kill them all. Starting with Taylor Doose.

Graphista · 14/07/2017 09:31

Oh I could be tempted but yes I think I'd get a bit bored and stabby eventually

Graphista · 14/07/2017 09:32

Phil it's on Netflix if you have that

PhilODox · 14/07/2017 09:38

No... I don't actually have a TV even, which is how I've never seen it!
Just finished the whole of Battle Star Galactica on boxed set dvd... Have been watching for about six months. Can't quite believe it's over.

Luxy · 14/07/2017 10:15

I'm with MetallicBeige, can't see why they all fawn over Rory in the town, Lane is far nicer. Annoyed me when Rory took over the local paper and didn't even know the staff - obviously not that interested in journalism if she'd never got involved with the small local paper. Would love to live there though as long as I could have Lorelai's parents and their fountains of money. Lorelai is awful Luke deserved better, and don't get me started on Logan and his awful friends. My teenage daughter is obsessed and thinks they are all wonderful, just as I probably would have at that age now I'm old and cynical and the only ones that I would like to share a town with are Michel, Kirk and of course LukeGrin

BlondeGinger · 14/07/2017 11:24

Ohhh I've always wanted to live there! It gives me such a cosy feeling!

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 14/07/2017 11:35

YANBU - I guess my username gives it away!

I like that none of them are perfect...

therootoftheroot · 14/07/2017 16:54

you are all talking about people i haven't come across yet!

At the stage i'm at, Paris is still a mean girl. She has just told the whole school that Lorelei the elder kissed the teacher on parents day.

The chef has just gone on her first date with vegetable guy
