Any tips what's should I do is it worth seeing the doctor yet. 6 days ago I got a migraine on my right temple took some codine slept and thought it had gone. When I woke up i could feel it coming back. It wasn't as bad when I first had it but my left temple really hurt and I felt exhausted. its now painful above my right eyebrow and my left temple hurts and I feel pressure in my head

Have you recently started dieting? Cut out sugar? Caffeine? Stopped smoking?

What do you mean you took a codeine one night and six days later it's come back? Or you've taken one every night and six days later it's worse?

I once went to the doctor after I'd had a migraine 2 weeks earlier, but still had a headache from it 2 weeks later. I was told that it can happen sometimes where it can take 2 or 3 weeks to disappear completely! This was news to me (I've had quite a few migraines in my life and never had that before) - but the doctor was right and the headache disappeared soon after that.

However, if you're worried and painkillers aren't really helping then it may be worth chatting to the GP.

I've not cut out caffine or sugar I've taken 2 codine tablets a day for the first 3 days but I can't take any more after 3 days so took ibroprufen and paracetamol maxium dosage for the remaining days

Yes when I have a migraine it takes quite a long time before it to completely go.

The reason I asked about the dieting is because the withdrawal gives me a headache that won't go away!

Go to GP - DP had somthing similar and turned out to be temporal arteritis an autoimmune condition which is very serious and can be fatal.

I've had this before. Turned out I needed new pillows as what I was sleeping on was causing my neck to be at a funny angle - which in turn caused a lingering headache.

Make sure you're drinking plenty, the majority of headaches apparently are causedoing by dehydration. I always feel sick with a headache and so have to force myself to drink plenty but they always take 2-3 days to disappear.

If you don't normally suffer from migraines of this duration then you definatley need to see a doctor. A friend of mine thought he had s migraine then the doctor diagnosed cluster headaches. Then a day later his temperature went up and back he went and he was taken from the GP surgery to hospital by ambulance as he had menginigitis. It took him months to feel better. Not worth thinking ' it's just a migraine' go and be seen. And if you are in pain, the addiction potential of codeine is lowered so it is ok to go beyond the three days. Especially if the pain is severe.

Could be the weather if you're in the UK? Could also be rebound from all the meds you're taking. A GP's opinion could be a good idea.
