DD nappy not been changed..

Just picked my 1.5yr old dd from nursery, got her changed into comfy clothes and noticed her nappy looked really saggy and full, I check her bag and she's got 3 nappies in there still that I put in this morning. So she's had the same nappy on from 8.30 until now... to be annoyed about this??

Yanbu, even if she hadn't pooed they should have changed her once anyway in that time surely.

YANBU Confused

Imchuckbass · 11/07/2017 15:00

Absolutely :) with my own kids, I would always change after poo or if they looked full. Even if neither had happened by nap time, they would get a fresh one regardless.

Before you do anything ask the nursery to check when her nappy was changed they should keep records

selly24 · 11/07/2017 15:09

To be sure it is the same one she went in wearing in the morning, Mark it with a felt pen or similar on the back inside waistband, then you will have evidence.

That is seriously grim how can they live with themselves?.....
I know a child who had terrible nappy rash as a result of being left too long in nappies.

ummmmok · 11/07/2017 15:15

Will do that thanks selly! I know I took her nappy off and could smell wee! I am always having to put nappy rash cream on here too bless her!

You've just reminded me to change ds Blush

YANBU

My DD nursery used to write a note in her book about when she'd had a nappy change and if it was wet or soiled.

MIL took DD for a few hours one day when she was quite little and brought her back about 4-5 hours later with an absolutely sodden nappy. Knowing full well that we were having sore bum issues! Such a basic thing to do when you're looking after a wee one.

I would definitely have a word with the nursery, that should not have happened. Sometimes DS is put in other kids' nappies (clean ones!) at nursery. If this happened here that might explain why you still had three nappies in the bag at the end of the day. But not changing an obviously full nappy is not ok either way.

YANBU, I would not be happy either. I have heard worse though, my friend once picked up her DS from his nursery and he had a dirty nappy on that looked like it had been left for a while Confused

Note to parents investigating nurseries. Question to ask might be, " How do you ensure your supervision ratios are maintained when staff are attending to children's toileting / nappy changes.
Or more simply, " If my DC were here with you from 8 to 6pm how many times would you expect his/ her nappy to be changed? "
