Neighbour spraying his drive clean just means I have a dirty drive

I've told I'm three times before that everytime he cleans up his cement / building materials by spraying it between the divide it just messes up my drive and garden as I'm down stream.

Everytime he apologizes but he still keeps doing it. Twice in the last month.

I know it's not the worst thing from a neighbour but it's still pretty annoying and selfish. Where does he think all the crap goes ?!

Im not sure if I should get more forceful or just clean it and maintain alright neighbourly relations?

Is there anywhere else he could reasonably direct the mucky water? If so YANBU, if not then YABU.

When I pressure wash our drive it dirties next door's house and fence. I clean it, obviously. YANBU.

MissWilmottsGhost · 11/07/2017 08:12

If he's washing loads of cement and building rubbish down the road, is it going into the drains? There may be a pollution issue?

My neighbour complains that mud washes off our drive onto his drive. He scrapes up the mud and dumps it back (uphill) onto my bit, where the next rain washes it back onto his. This has been going on for about 10 years.

There's a drain he could easily direct it into. It's cement stuff so it's pretty difficult to get rid of.

I just dont know if he is that stupid (espically as I've told him several times!) Or he is taking the piss. I'd assume the latter as I don't think even he is that stupid. He always does it while I'm out else I'd tell him straight away. Often get back latish on a Sunday with a million things to do and it's hard and dried on there.

Right then YANBU if there's a drain he could direct it into, he's just being a prick. I always do my best not to get muck on our NDN drive when I pressure wash ours, but if I do I knock on the door and ask to clean it up. Nice to be nice and all that.

PurplePeppers · 11/07/2017 08:37

Nope I think he can't be bothered and can't see the issue as it doesn't affect HIM.
I would also wonder if it was your DH/DP/a man who was talking to him, this might have more weight and he might be more careful.

quartofquakingquills · 11/07/2017 08:42

If you can predict when NDN will get up to his tricks, it could be worth having a word with him before you go out to say that you don't expect a mess on your property when you return. If he still does it then shovel/spray/rake it back onto his property.

What a twit.

Greyponcho · 11/07/2017 08:42

Cement stuff shouldn't be going down a drain Angry

Greyponcho · 11/07/2017 08:43

But it shouldn't be going on your driveway either.
He sounds thoughtless

brexitstolemyfuture · 11/07/2017 08:45

I agree PurplePeppers!

He has a recent extension with a drain that must go to a soakaway. If it doesn't belong there it shouldn't belong on my drive either. He's lazy cleaning it.
