We had our babies baptism yesterday. The week before my parents asked what the plans were. I told them that the church was was 1230 but to pop over around 11 for tea and sandwiches. My parents said that was fine and they'd see us then. My husbands parents and our babies godparents had arrived by 11:30 so at 11:45 I text my mum to see was everything ok and I got a reply saying on the way. They live half an hour away.
At 12:20 they still weren't there so but at that point we had to go or we'd be late. They arrived literally as we were putting the kids into the car. I asked them why they were so late and mum brushed it off like we're here now. After the service I wanted to get photos in the church of godparents and grandparents holding the baby but my dad had left to get the car. The same thing happened at my sons birthday they asked me what time the party was for and I told them 2-5 and they arrived over just as it was finishing up sat in another room when we did cake and sang happy birthday and then stayed for another few hours afterwards. Have I a right to be annoyed? I've established my parents don't like crowds of people but the only people going to the christening was myself and husband our children his parents and our babies godparents.
