If you are slim and in good shape. What's your diet like? Do you eat a healthy diet, do you exercise regularly and so on? What I mean is do you work at keeping in shape, even if it's not difficult for you personally? Or are you slim but live on coffee and fags?!

If you are overweight or know you eat a bad diet and don't exercise, do you feel a bit rubbish? Or are you bigger but feel healthy and great?

The reason I'm asking is although I've never been overweight, I've always been bigger than I'd like upper end of a healthy weight. I eat what I want and don't really exercise and I don't really feel particularly healthy. Tired a lot, bad pms, feel unfit.

I can lose weight ok if I try and have often lost a stone but find it a real drag, hate limiting calories, hate cutting out food groups. Always put it back on. I figured I'm going to try a different way. Instead of disliking my body and trying to change it, I'm going to try and forget altogether but try eating better and exercising to feel healthier in the hope things will fall into place.

I'm just interested to hear how others manage their diet/weight really.

Oh and if anyone is thinking about trying 5:2 I would recommend starting now. It is so much easier in the summer when half a tin of tuna and some salad is quite nice, whereas I started in the winter and found myself shivering on the sofa in the evening and had to make vats of vegetable soup as salad was really not attractive!

My BMI is 23 and I am tall so I appear slim.

I run 5 k 3-4 times a week and follow the s-plan which is very easy.

It keeps the weight off with minimal effort.

I have been everything from underweight (BMI 18) to obese (BMI 37). At the moment I am in the overweight zone (BMI 29) so I have a lot of insight into the weight thing. I am 57.
Absolutely hated being obese, especially over the 35 point (think that is a higher category of obese). Love being normal weight. When I was at my thinnest I felt great because I was young and could wear whatever clothes I liked, however I wouldn't want to be that thin now.
At the moment I feel fine, that is because I am fit and active, I can still move freely and I feel stong. Logically though, I know I should lose a stone or so, to guard against diabetes and other conditions as I get older.
Diet wise, it's probably 80/20 at the moment, the 80% being reasonably 'healthy' ie real food. I do eat some chocolate, crisps, etc and drink some alcohol, which I will probably knock on the head once the summer is over.

I am 5' 6 and 11st 2 - size 10 on top but 14 on bottom and bmi of 25.2 so I am slightly overweight.

I do a lot of exercise (neither DP or I drive so we cycle a lot) but I eat what I want, and what I want to eat involves a lot of carbs and sugar - I eat a lot of buttered toast, cake, cookies/ biscuits and chocolate. I am awful for snacking. Also tend to have big portions for dinner and often have seconds.
I have just begun trying to lose weight - ideally I'd like to be around 9st so I am calorie counting to try and keep under 1200 and doing the 30 day shred alongside my usual cycling. I know I will lose weight this way but the hard bit will be sticking to it once I've got there and not going back to old habits. I worked out I can easily eat 2500 - 3000 calories a day if i don't think about what I'm eating.

I do wish I could get rid of some norkage. I've slimmed down a bit, and I'm more toned on the top half of my body. I'm still a 14 according to a charity shop shirt I've just bought......normally I fit a 10/12 on top in contemporary clothes. Sad.

Bloody vanity sizing......
