To want my bin left somewhere near my house!

Am I being unreasonable? I live on a very long street of terraced houses. When I come home on bin day my bin is nowhere to be seen and is normally half way up the street! For example if I live at number 50 it ends up at 36 or 74! This means I have to go hunting for it every week. I also have a newish baby who I have to take in my arms and drag the bin behind me and then up stairs or leave her in the house alone (I hate doing this seems dangerous) to get a bloody bin! AIBU reasonable to complain to the council or is it more likely a neighbour has taken a dislike to me.
Ps. OH works away so I can't send him bin hunting!

It will be the collectors leaving the bins by wherever the truck stops ie every few yards. It's not likely to be a neighbour shifting it for fun. I don't think the council would be interested in trying to solve your problem.

Ask a neighbour to keep an eye on the baby, or to pull your bin back for you.

I used to live on a dead end road, approx 50 houses on one straight road. The bin lorry would reverse half way down, and bring all the bins to that point leaving them there when they had been emptied. In the middle of the road. We lived right at the end of the road. So each morning, after bins had been emptied, DH and every other neighbour had to retrieve their bins to allow road access. It was horrendous. After everyone on the street complained via phone or email (often), the council ensured it would stop - which it never did. We were there for 2 years, and the neighbours said it had been ongoing for many years prior.

I'd say complain to the council, but be prepared that it probably won't change.
