To ask you for help finding my phone *sob*

I have a Google Pixel which I lurve, I brought it to work this morning, cycled to work and went into the loos in one corner of my building to put on a bit of makeup (I didn't actually go to the loo). Looked at my phone and put it in the pocket of my jacket. It may well have slipped out on the floor at that point.

Now it's lost. If I ring it, I get "the mobile phone you are ringing is switched off". Find My Android shows it as still in the part of the building the loo is in (big building, last signal at arrival to work time). The reception desk (usual lost item repository) hasn't had anything handed in.

I looked in the loo - behind the water pipes, everywhere - and on the stairs and corridor up to my office.

I was pretty convinced I'd set up voicemail but I'm not getting voicemail when I ring. I've been ringing it every 15 mins or so since I noticed it was gone (1/2 hour after I last had it).

I'm about to do the "ring for 5 minutes" option but if it's off (or was knocked into the loo by someone) it's not going to ring.

It had a full battery when I left this morning, if it's just off (as opposed to destroyed/drowned) would it still be locatable?

There is also a main reception outwith my building and I've rung there and nothing.

Heeelp... any more steps I can take? Or should I just wipe it and order a new one, hopefully on insurance?

We are no longer allowed bins... cost saving - I might be brave and look in the sanitary bin though as we are allowed them! I have never looked in one and I assume they are big enough to put a phone in!

(Oh and we aren't allowed paper towels either since they of course need bins - and the hand dryers aren't upward facing so if my face gets wet while cycling I can't put my makeup on. Grumble grumble).

Police rung - check
Work done today - zero.

Darn, I was really hoping you'd find it in the bin so I could be a hero!

I wish we had hand dryers, our cleaners ram so many paper towels in the dispenser that you rip them getting them out

I hope you find your phone OP. DH lost his phone in similar circumstances at work and we're fairly sure it was stolen.

My work also won't allow us to have bins. Apparently it's good for our health to get up and walk down the corridor every time we have a bit of rubbish to throw away. Nothing to do with only sending the cleaner in once a week. I have a contraband bin that hides under my desk.

And sorry for being off-topic, but we don't even get proper sanitary bins. Just some bags and a normal small bin--and they only empty it every week or two. Bleugh

We are allowed bins in our offices but we have to empty them ourselves. The communal bins to empty them in to hold about 1/10th of a week's worth of rubbish from one person's office. And I'm only part time.

I am on the phone to the insurance company (I'm going to be catching up on paperwork big time after the DCs are in bed) before they shut.

I will, however, go and quickly check the mini sanitary bin before setting off for home.

The loo in question has no sanitary bin...

It's been an awful day all round. Spent four hours trying to get one bit of kit to work and then to get it to speak to another bit of kit. Unsuccessfully. Have a colleague coming to start a big project tomorrow, so was hoping to get all my admin/catchup done today but have done nothing else except sort out my phone.
