To not understand this?

I expect to me flamed as I tend to avoid the gender threads - because I don't think I'm at that stage.

So are they indicating that this child was born a physical sex - but are not assigning a gender to the baby ?

I don't aim to bring my daughters up as girls - as people but I think it helps them to see themselves as girls? Or does it not?

I know as a woman and being identified as such by others has made people respond differently to me than if I was a man - or perhaps no gender - i.e. Not identifiable.

I really respect these parents but AIBU to not quite understand? How this works?
