What about taking DD and a small group of friends for pizza and a movie?

RandomMess · 02/07/2017 21:23

We did make your own pizza parties around that age...

Does she like crafts? You could get some craft kits like ceramic or glass painting from somewhere like Baker Ross. Then you could do a nice afternoon tea or something while it all dries. Bonus is you don't need much of a party bag (maybe just cake) as they get something to take home.

We did a Pizza Express party for DD's 7th and a bowling party for DS when he turned 7.

Stuff your own bear - we have used bemybear.com - it is about £7 each but you then don't need a party bag. We did it at home with a few friends.

Trip out with small group to cinema/bowling/ice skating/other local attraction followed by McDonalds/pizza hut/other local kids food place.

Old school pass the parcel/pin the tail on the donkey/musical bumps followed by jelly and ice cream party.

Treasure hut/scavenger hunt - very cheap and they love it, but can be a lot of work to set it up.

Craft - get some kits/bake/make pizza/decorate biscuits.

Disco - disco ball and some music, balloons etc. and just let them jump about for a couple of hours.

Afternoon tea/princess tea. Followed by a crafty type activity or maybe just let them play.

'Pamper' party. Glitter hair spray, nail varnish, tattoos etc. Chocolate fountain.

DD1 has not long turned 6, but she's informed me she wants a sleepover for her 7th birthday. There's a lady local to us who does kids pamper parties, maybe that could be an idea?

Some great ideas - thanks for your replies Smile

DIY makeup and hair party at home. Rope in a couple of friends to help do hair, nails and make up. Do pizza for tea and the birthday cake for afterwards. Cheap and easy and the girls love it. X

I made cupcakes one year and let DD and friends lose with icing and loads of different sprinkles

They loved it and was the easiest birthday cake I didn't have to decorate
