I think it's wear and tear actually. You're not saying the sole is peeling off or there's a hole. The chunk out of the black one has been caused by you, as someone has already said it wouldn't just fall out, so you must have caught it on something

Busybee233 · 02/07/2017 14:37

They aren't the best shoes for my feet but I normally wear boots or trainers they where brought last week online I recived them on Thursday

Busybee233 · 02/07/2017 14:43

Take them back.
I'm not sure about the black ones so maybe separately.

The gold shouldn't just come off by walking in them. They look kicked up.

How droll 2017 dyslexia eh? guffaw.

Bumdishcloths · 02/07/2017 15:01

The black pair look like they've been damaged by an office chair, bending your knees and pulling your feet up under the seat (which is what I do, and have done this to shoes). Similar with the gold pair, they look scuffed Hmm

Busybee233 · 02/07/2017 15:19

I don't have an office chair just a normal chair at the moment as the chair broke last week

It's bad form on Mumsnet posts Angel.

laurzj82 · 02/07/2017 16:15

OP, if you are nervous of taking them back to the shop you can post them back to office. If you are on facebook you can message their head office on there and they reply within minutes. I would take them back too. £50 is too much money to wear once and they should be fit for the work you describe.

Apologies to the grammar police for any errors on my part Hmm

AngeloftheSouth84 · 02/07/2017 17:12

Sorry - I don't mean it in a horrible way, but if you're going to complain correct spelling makes a difference. I am trying to be helpful even if the grammar police police don't think I am.

The chunk out of the black ones is just bad luck, you can't really complain about that, they must have caught against something, go over the scrape with a sharpie, no one is going to notice.

The creasing on the other ones ...it wouldn't bother me but is that a scuff on the toe as well? Were you bending right down causing the creasing and the scuff?

I don't really think either are faulty tbh

Aeroflotgirl · 02/07/2017 17:19

Tbh they look very flimsy, and should last more than a day of light wear, which is what op was doing. I would take them back, ask for a refund, and get more sturdy pair.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 02/07/2017 17:19

I've done this recently with some school shoes.

"I'd like to return these for a refund as they're faulty" when they ask what the fault is, just show the shoes and explain you've only worn them for one day.

When did you buy them? You should be able to get a full refund

SomewhatIdiosyncratic · 02/07/2017 17:36

I returned some M&S trainers after DS who is usually light at wearing shoes down managed to entirely wear away the uppers of the toe in one day. Scuffs I'd have accepted as wear and tear, but the materials of the shoe just weren't durable enough to withstand reasonable play from a child of that age.

The assistant looked Hmm that it was a day's play, but I had the receipts and pointed out that the soles and uppers were still very clean showing little time in use.

I got the refund.
