To ask how to hide nipples

Mottled · 01/07/2017 19:25

I am fed up that whatever bra I buy, they do not hide my nipples that seem to be always erect and show through my tops. Anyone else with big nips got any tips on the best bra? I have tried the silicon covers but they don't last long and itch.

buy some daisies available in all good chemists if you are not keen on padded bras.

I read today (probably in the Daily Mail) that people are having surgery to give them more protruding nipples.

M and S t- shirt bras works for me.

These are great:

Brastop - curvy Kate and flirtelle both do padded bras and bikinis

How sad so many women feel they need to conceal a normal part of their body.

VladmirsPoutine · 01/07/2017 20:19

How sad so many women feel they need to conceal a normal part of their body.

You mean it's 'sad' that a woman might of her own volition make choices regarding how she looks and feels good? Is it also sad when women choose to dye their hair, wear heels or any number of things that alter their appearance because it makes them feel good? Or rather bizarrely, just because they want to?

228agreenend · 01/07/2017 20:20

i'm an oldie, and 'nice girls' didn't show their nipples or bra straps. T shirt bras are a godsend for us protruding nipple sufferers.

Cadenza1818 · 01/07/2017 20:22

M+s the shirt bras for my 34e bubbas. Or bravissimo if you're bigger

NoYesMaybe · 01/07/2017 20:24

Absolutely agree with VladmirsPoutine.

PratStick · 01/07/2017 20:26

Reusable breast pads? (The sort for milk absorption)

PratStick · 01/07/2017 20:27

It is sad that women feel self conscious about their bodies. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be encouraged to make themselves comfortable though.

Fairylea · 01/07/2017 20:31

Bravissimo have tons of T shirt bras in larger sizes.

Akire · 01/07/2017 20:34

It's not just being self conscious though if news at 10 newsreader were on plain sight or the woman across table at work or when I serve you in a shop people would laugh snigger, and complain!

Very different from being "just" self conscious about a big nose day and it didn't register with anyone else. So yes I'm afraid I do cover not just for everyone else but for me, I go past mirror and hate them. (At home of no bra)

PratStick · 01/07/2017 20:36

I hope that wasn't directed at me as that was the point I was making.

nina2b · 01/07/2017 20:38

Oysterbabe

Just don't worry about it, nipples are nothing to be ashamed of.

Exactly.

Mottled · 01/07/2017 20:48

I am not ashamed of them, I have bf 3 children and they did a good job. But I have had comments like 'are you cold again' etc and yes it is embarrassing because people also associate protruding nips as being sexually aroused even though mine are just like that....

Panache Porcelain t-shirt bras come in large sizes

I feel your pain, OP

I"m pregnant and my nipples are permanently erect and I'm constantly trying to hide them

Cleanermaidcook · 01/07/2017 21:08

Asda do t-shirt bras in big sizes (i'm 38 f) they're slightly padded, also cheap - bonus for big boobs.

Sisinisawa · 01/07/2017 21:49

Mottled mine are the same but I've learned not to care.
If I get comments (pretty much never) I just say No I'm not cold they're just like that naturally.
There's no need to be embarrassed.

I'm not body shaming you by the way obviously you can cover your nipples if you want but I hate that society makes you feel you have to.

ScissorBow · 01/07/2017 21:55

What about washable breast pads? You can wash them as often as you wash your bra (or change them everyday) and they're padded enough to hide even the most growth spurt chewed on nipples Grin The bamboo ones didn't make my boobs sweat.
