It won't be fun though.

Currently at 11st 9lb and going on holiday on 25 July. I'd like to be at least a stone lighter.

It's achievable isn't it?

Advisable? Hmmmm depends. I wouldn't do it, but that isn't what you asked, so I'll shut up about that Smile!

Possible, yes definitely; my sister lost over a stone in about three weeks by doing this;

  1. very, very low carb, high fat and low calorie for two weeks
  2. Juice fast for final week

Be warned though, don't pig out or eat normally immediately after the juice fast. My sister showed me a photo of herself in a very expensive, very figure hugging dress, which she'd found on eBay and bought to use as her inspiration to lose weight for her holiday. It was the first night of her holiday and she'd gone out for a meal and cocktails. I kid you not, she looked about 6 months pregnant. I think her digestive system was so shocked by eating a meal, that she bloated like anything! I think she was an extreme case. She found it funny; hasn't done it since though.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 01/07/2017 12:07

She's also now very overweight (obese I would guess), but I don't think that's anything to do with this particular diet. Certainly not this diet alone anyway.

LogicalPsycho · 01/07/2017 12:24

I've done it before, 2st in 7 weeks on a VLCD, 500 calories a day, no carbs. The weight fell off, but quickly went back on when I started eating again!

Housewife2010 · 01/07/2017 12:34

It can depend on your age. At 26 I lost 8 stone in 8.5 months. Twenty years later (I have put some of that weight back on) it takes a lot longer to lose weight.

PeaFaceMcgee · 01/07/2017 12:39

Take supplements if you opt for a very low calorie diet. You don't want to be nutritionally deficient or put your heart at risk.

kmc1111 · 01/07/2017 12:41

Depends a bit on your height. If the stone is all you have to lose it'll be tough, if you're short and could lose a couple it'll be much easier.

Lots of exercise, lots of veg, no starches or sugar and tons of water. If you hit a plateau try a few days of juice cleanses. Not a successful long term strategy obviously, but short term it does the job.

Yes you can easily, I've done it before. You needs a months supply of this and stick to it rigidly. You will lose more than a stone. You can only buy it online. I recommend shakes and bars only the meals are vile.

I have lost 7lbs this week since Monday.

I think you can easily do it.

AfraidOfMyShadow · 01/07/2017 12:48

Yes, but I wouldn't advise it for most people.
Cutting out all junk food and alcohol or fizzy drinks could be enough depending on your diet.

But if you're diet is already rather healthy I'd suggest aiming for losing 2-3 pounds a week with more exercise and portion control so it becomes part of your lifestyle.

Lovedlost · 01/07/2017 13:00

Yes, but not without effort.
A 'shred' type DVD done daily, and 1,000 calories per day will do it. Plus your body will be noticeably tighter.
I worked in the fashion industry for a while. Their techniques were vile, but you can get a stone off in 3/4 days if you follow their methods. Angry
I'm not even describing them, but that was back when 7 stone was 'big'.
I truly believe that the illegal parts have stopped now, but a model with crap skin is normally being given substances to aid weight loss. SadSad

GiraffesCantPlayHopScotch · 01/07/2017 13:17

Yes if you'd like a nice gallbladder operation in a few years

Lim0ne · 01/07/2017 13:22

Yes you can definitely do it.

I just did a 3 day "Nosh" detox and went from 9st 10 to 9st 4. It is expensive (about £150 for the smoothies). There are 6 different smoothies per day - e.g. the one in the morning is almond, banana and oat - plus some booster powders for cleansing the system. You don't feel hungry. The hardest thing for me has been the caffeine withdrawal. I had a really bad headache on the first evening which I think was that.

Once you've "detoxed" they do offer healthy eating plans delivered to your door. Or just eat porridge and salads for another week or so. You will feel like eating "clean" afterwards anyway.

It is expensive, but I guess the price includes delivery and it's nutritionally balanced so that you don't feel hungry.

Nosh are on Kings Rd, London, but there are loads of similar companies online.

I'm not calling you a liar but I'd bet my house that anyone, not least someone who is 7 stone, can lose a stone in 3/4 days.

Groupie123 · 01/07/2017 15:01

I lost a stone in a month. It is def possible with exercise and calorie restriction

ticketytock1 · 01/07/2017 15:04

If you do the Cambridge diet you def will... you could lose a stone in 2 weeks on that!

ticketytock1 · 01/07/2017 15:04

Be prepared for misery tho 😫

HeresMe · 01/07/2017 21:18

Can you do it maybe, should you? absolutely not it's unhealthy and will do you more harm than good, if you watch the biggest loser where they lose weight fast, a lot of the contestants since have put masses of weight on.

All the diets people are listing above are expensive and pointless, I lost 7 stone by moving more and eating less.

user1498678664 · 02/07/2017 10:29

Thanks all.

I'm really not concerned about my heart or gallbladder - it's three weeks only.

Lost 2lbs since yesterday. Ten cream crackers and two raw carrots. Grin

Many of the lighter life deaths happened within just a few weeks too. Supplements are pretty cheap - make sure you have plenty of magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium and vitamin D, as well as your B vits.
