To not want a house with this floor plan (pic included)

In the area I want and with my budget I'm only going to get a terraced house. All the terraced houses I've seen a tiny and I feel like I'm in a prison cell.

I've found a house that's within budget and I love it! Feels spacious and is end terrace with a big park next to it. I love the area.

It feels cosy and there's still a yard for own use eventhough it's small. It's big enough to have a washing line and an outdoor table and chairs. I'm moving from a semi detached house with front and back garden but it's worth it to live in a better location.

My issue is the floor plan (see pic)

An extension has been added but to preserve some yard space it's been added in a long rectangle. This then leaves a large dining room but another lounge with no use to it!

My friend has th exact same floor plan and her living room is redundant!

I only have my daughter and I but family stay a lot so I could make the 'lounge' into a multi use room with a guest bed, computer desk etc.

Would this floor plan put you off? Is it a disaster?

Any ideas on how to make it work?

Can you swap the kitchen and dining and take out the wall between living. Then make kitchen guest room with en-suite/ garden room? Air b n b your living room?

I had a house like that a few years ago and it was brilliant - and I was living there on my own! I don't see the problem here.
I had the front room as a living room with tv, comfy chairs to curl up in. The back room as dining room so easy access from kitchen with hot food.
It was actually a better layout than my current large family house which has a combined living/dining room right by the kitchen - can't use washing machine or dishwasher whilst watching tv because can't hear the tv. The layout with a small child is difficult as living/dining room is L shape so can't always see her, particulRly from the kitchen. The layout in my old terraced house would have been preferable- childgate/door shut to keep her in the dining room, with some toys and easy to see from kitchen.

I really wouldn't worry . Our children are a bit older not w and it is so great to have a separate lounge and dining room to watch different TV or when they have friends round it's so good for them to have a room to be in independently . I think it's quite a standard layout but I live it n also don where there are lots of terraces very similar to this floor plan

Can't you knock the wall between the kitchen and lounge down to make a large kitchen/diner?

Not read all the thread but this is almost identical to our house.
Originally the front room was used as a dining room which I hated. Made it into a little lounge . Corner sofa bed, tv and a little fire. Very cosy and perfect for tv watching or quiet space etc. Used every night.

The back room is open to the galley kitchen. We use this most of the time. It is our 'living room. It has a big table and a sofa and a book case etc. The cupboard under the stairs in the corner of the room is the toy cupboard.

We do have a small ( tiny ) TV on the book case
. It's rarely on though.

I love the layout and we use all the space. We have between 1 and 4 children here for part of the week so despite the small house we have managed

We are in the process of moving but keeping this one because we already have a couple of small families interested in renting it.

Just an idea. That's our old house, people before us done it, lots of space for 4 of us, shame it was 2 bed property, so had to move as kids grow up. People use they home differently, good thing that is cheap to run.
