So, the fridge is broken and the repair man is coming today between 9-6pm 🙄.
I don't have a shop very close by, the nearest one if about a 20-30 minute walk away and it's raining.
DH took the car to work this morning at 7 so before the shops were open.
DS is teething and woke up twice last night which is simply unheard of, meaning I'm extra super tired today.
All I want is a cup of tea but the milk looks like cottage cheese.
DH suggested just putting a bit of breastmilk in if it's no big deal (I always tell him that it's no big deal to try it as he still hasn't).

Now I've been up for a few hours and really need some caffeine.... shall I?

Sorry cross post :-) do you have any other neighbours?

tonightonight · 27/06/2017 09:06

@RB68 I never knew that! Thanks for the advice!

Ah, just use the breastmilk. It's right there Smile

justinelibertine · 27/06/2017 09:09

I've done it with readymade formula when desperate. I know formula and breastmilk most likely taste very different, but I def think you should.

originalbiglymavis · 27/06/2017 09:09

It's not like you are offering it to the repair man. Try it, what's the worse that could happen?

tonightonight · 27/06/2017 09:09

@TwatteryFlowers don't event tempt me!! I have a cupboard full of booze and it looks so tempting!!

@hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman this is what I though. If I'm happy to drink cows breast milk, why not my very own?!

Next time make sure you buy/rent a house near a corner shop! Sorry no help now- have you no friends or relatives who can bring in some milk. Also, all night petrol stations would have had milk so one of you could have popped out last night.

tonightonight · 27/06/2017 09:29

@quizqueen true I didn't even think about needing a brew last night to nip out!
Nah, all my friends and family who live near by work office hours as well. I know one person who would be off work and couple bring milk but she'd want to come in and spend the day with us... and as I'm sure many of you know, some days when baby is teething, entertaining is the last thing you want to do

Oh I don't know "Here, have cuddles I am back to bed" works for me ha ha ha

RB68 · 27/06/2017 09:34

PS I empathise re walk to shop our nearest is around a mile walk up the canal - pleasant when NOT raining. And as the weather forecaster said this morning "If you like rain, you are in for a treat!"

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 27/06/2017 09:36

Is the retired old bat that bad? She may be good to have on side against the vicious neighbours? And I bet she loves a baby!!

Getoffthetableplease · 27/06/2017 09:50

Hope you've had a caffeine fix by now? In my laziness I quite like rainy days when you're forced to stay in Smile. Nothing wrong with a bit of your milk in your tea, less weird than Daisy's udder produce when you think about it! Solidarity in teething baby situ, mines finally napping but it's on me so no chance of a cuppa or even the wee I need...

tonightonight · 27/06/2017 10:04

@Justmadeperfectflapjacks she doesn't like children, let alone babies! We've had many arguments about my DS. If I'm going out I have to carry the pram downstairs, set it up and then come down with baby and changing bag. She went mental that my pram was taking up the entrance hall (which is about 4m wide) and that I was inconsiderate. Not sure what I was inconsiderate of.... anyways we have a lot of issues lol. I dread to think what she's put in the milk...

@Getoffthetableplease I had a pot of chai tea latte in the cupboard, a just add water jobby. Thought my luck was in so I made it, drank it, then realised it said caffeine free Sad
I'm trying to build up to even switching the kettle back on, DS is asleep in his sleepyhead next to me, so I've taken the opportunity to lie down and watch Ramsey's kitchen nightmares Grin

I tried this with formula once...was grim

BaggypantsCrimplesnitch · 27/06/2017 17:31

Dogs don't like human breast milk.

BananaThePoet · 28/06/2017 12:55

I stopped using milk in tea and coffee a few years ago. Don't miss it a bit. In fact tea is nicer without it if you make the tea with water at 70C instead of boiled. Especially Earl Grey or Lady Grey but even ordinary Tetley is nice with just water and no sugar nor milk. Just don't let the tea steep too long, it doesn't work if you let it stew.
