Hi all, medium size terraced Victorian. I am struggling to finalise the colour scheme for the walls. I wanted to go with grey walls, but not sure about it as it may make the place look dark and small. Teal and blue have crossed my mind too but not sure..... Please help me.

With farrow and ball you can choose three or four colours which complement each other so they flow as you walk through the house, looks amazing

empitness · 25/06/2017 22:19

Mrsbird311: Wow! That's sound amazing. But I can't afford F&B at the moment ☹️. Any other suggestion for combination that flows through ( Delux, Valspar or Crown) ?

Doesn't the Valspar ones have a bit at the bottom of the cards to show colours that compliment (or did I completely make that up)?

Wonder lime: you might be 100% right. Logically that how it should be . I am going to enquire tomorrow. Wish I could have you all come with me, to pick up the colours 😆

Download the Dulux app-you can use the camera to 'paint' your walls. It's great to get an idea. And I think it suggest colours that compliment the one you've selected too.

TwoBlueFish · 25/06/2017 22:37

I have Dulux heritage green verditer on one wall in my sitting room then the other walls in a light grey and love it. My dining room and hallway are Dulux Egyptian cotton

RightOnTheEdge · 25/06/2017 22:43

I would never have thought of yellow and grey but I saw a picture of a yellow and grey bedroom the other day and it looked gorgeous!

empitness · 25/06/2017 22:45

WeeM: What an absolutely amazing idea! I have just downloaded the app and it's brilliant. Thank you Thank you

I played about with it for ages! I really like the grey/mustard combo but I already had a plum rug so had to work around that when we decorated.

wildbhoysmama · 26/06/2017 00:08

Navy, that's gorgeous. Is it a v dark grey or a dark green? Is this your own room? If so you have fabulous style.
OP eau de nil not just for bedrooms, we have it on our front room ceiling and have always loved it.

wildbhoysmama · 26/06/2017 00:12

Valspar can scan any colour, they even have all the colour codes/ cards for F&B, Little Greene, Laura Ashley etc so you could get the flow that MrsBird suggested but at decent prices. Just a thought.

empitness · 26/06/2017 18:33

Wildbhousmama: Thank you very much for your elaborate replies. It's a very good idea. I went to get the paint today but couldn't decide. I am going to go there tomorrow and try the FB, with Valspar idea.
THANK YOU ALL FIR YOUR REPLIES. Will post before and after pics once done.

Have a look at dulux Gentle Fawn.

It picks up a lot of different colours so changes it's tone.

WeeM · 26/06/2017 23:13

Also Wilko do a premium range that is meant to be like Farrow and Ball but at a fraction of the price. I got a tester and the texture was lovely-just the colour wasn't quite what I was looking for. They have the testers in store but you need to order the big tins online.
