To not want to give my details?

In Holland & Barrett today buying a herbal remedy - get to the counter and the conversation goes like this:

Assistant: Have you got one of our cards?
Me: No, I don't want one thankyou
Assistant: But you get rewards and coupons! I'll just put your details in, it'll take one minute
Me: I'm in a rush I don't want one thanks
Assistant: But that doesn't make sense! You will SAVE MONEY. What's your address?
Me: I don't HAVE an address since I'm currently living in temporary housing and am technically homeless

(I was hoping not to have to explain that in front of a queue full of strangers)

This is not the first time in H&B either, every single time I buy something from there I get pestered to get a card, and the assistants then start giving me a big speech about saving money, etc. I DON'T WANT ONE! Even if I did why should I give out my personal details in front of a load of strangers?! AIBU?

It's incredibly annoying and intrusive. I once complained in a post shopping survey when a shop was really pushy about me giving my address out in front of a queue of people. I really don't want to have to do that just to buy a top.

I hope enough people refuse that retailers get the message. I'm sorry for the staff caught in the middle (been there) but I'm still not giving my details out - I'm never rude about it though.

Pretty firmly I say no... but that said, it puts me off going in H&B completely.

If you can be arsed, your receipt will have details of how to report back on the quality of service.
