DC ages 5 and 2:
Shared bath starting 7.30
In bed by 8

DD is six. Her bedtime (well start of bedtime routine) was 7 until the summer when we pushed it back to 8. Now she's on her summer holidays, bedtime often ends up being 9 or later - last night we went for a midnight walk as it's Midsummer to see the midnight sun and look for bonfires so DD didn't get to bed until 1am! She always sleeps in when she goes to bed late though so gets enough sleep whereas if she goes to bed at her normal bed time she usually needs melatonin to fall asleep.

4yo in bed by 8pm on school nights and usually gets 11h.

2yo doesn't bloody sleep. Sigh

Too blimmin' late! DD is supposed to be asleep by nine, but more often isn't asleep till ten (she's 6, nearly 7). I end up staying up too late just to get a bit of adult quiet time in the evening. (She doesn't need more sleep, wakes up for school OK.)

MrsWooster · 24/06/2017 08:57

Always been bath at 630 and asleep by 730 for dc 4 and 7 but ds7 has JUST flipped to not being sleepy til 9 so he reads quietly til about 830 then grumbles himself to sleep sometime after 9. Both up 630-7 with strict totally disregarded rules to be quiet til 7 at the earliest.

Clalpolly · 24/06/2017 08:59

10 - generally in bed and reading by 8. Lights out usually 8.30z

Only1scoop · 24/06/2017 09:00

DC just turned 7
She goes bath 7 bed 7.30 in week.
Stays up til about 9 on Fri/sat

RiverTam · 24/06/2017 09:05

DD is 7, we try to get her into her room (so after shower and teeth) for about 7.45-8, we read to her for about 15 mins, then she reads or plays till 9ish. Doesn't always go to sleep then.

Lying in bed for about 3 hours isn't good. Shift everything back by at least an hour. It will of course affect your own evening to an extent but that's life when you have a night owl.

RitaMills · 24/06/2017 09:11

DS (7) goes to bed between 7.30/8pm Sun-thurs, 9pm on a Friday (he has a club to be up for sat morning) and free rein over Sat night so just whenever he's tired which is usually around 11pm.

CarrotFingers · 24/06/2017 09:20

DS is almost 3 and takes ages to wind down. We do bath and stories, then into bed by about 7:45pm, falls asleep around 8:30pm. He needs one is us to lie with him until he's 100% asleep, or he wakes and gets upset. I'd like him to be asleep closer to 7:30pm but moving bedtimes around hasn't worked. He usually wakes up at 6am or earlier and often appears tired, but nothing we've tried can entice him to fall asleep earlier on an evening.

trinitybleu · 24/06/2017 09:33

My 10 year old goes up at 9 and will be in bed by 10. If she's asleep by 10:30 we're doing well. Up at 6:30.

She's never been a good sleeper. Was up til midnight last night and even with bad sleep in the hot weather earlier in the week, she's just appeared at 9:30 ...
