Posting for traffic. 14 weeks post baby number two. Weigh 12 stone 4 and I'm about 5 foot 7 and a bit. Heaviest I've ever been. Normally about 10.5 stone before kids etc. Feeling unhappy about weight but not much motivation to cut down on snacks as sugar is a quick fix to give me energy. Know about balanced diets etc but no time, no motivation and I'm not confident in the kitchen. I was considering SW, never done it before, or anything similar. Is it any good or a load of crap. AIBU to consider SW or should I wait?

Thanks for replies.....I find my motivation is up and down and I totally understand that I have to do this myself and that attending weekly meetings will not magically make the weight drop off. What I'm looking for is advice on whether SW could work......what is its set up? I've used mfp before I've just realised....just struggling to log in.

Can I also say congratulations to those of you who have lost weight via whatever methods!! Well done!!

Previous to children I had 6 years of infertility and IVF and I ate very healthily and exercised. I think I've lapsed since pregnancy number two as I've been so good for so long!

SW works but it doesn't teach you very good habits and doesn't promote healthy eating.

You don't have to follow SW recipes to follow the plan. Muller lights are completely optional, no idea why people go on about them so much.

Just cook normal food like cooked breakfast, omelettes, baked potatoes, cottage pie, curries, soups, tray bakes (eg fish or chicken, vegetables, potatoes), roast dinner, paella, stir fries, spaghetti bolognaise, pasta in a tomato, olive and tuna sauce, etc etc making sure you follow the rules about including plenty of veg, use an oil spray, lean meat etc.

It's not even necessary to follow it that closely. It's just a calorie reduction plan without the need to restrict or weigh and measure most things except bread and obvious junk like cake, crisps, takeaways, biscuits etc.

It worked for me even when I used full fat cottage cheese, Greek yogurt and a bit more cheese than allowed. The main benefit comes from eating hardly any high calorie treats like alcohol, crisps, cake, chocolate etc.

Still can't log onto MFP.... have uninstalled and will add it agsin. I'm not sure I like the idea of strict calorie counting but I'm open to the idea, even if it gives me some idea of what I'm putting in. I'm breastfeeding still so need to eat varied, balanced diet. I should be super skinny the amount of running around I do with toddler!

Sw member for 4 years, hit my target 2 years ago and have continued to maintain ever since. I still attend meetings as I enjoy the social aspect of the group but as far as food plans go I found it extremely easy to follow when compared to ww. Mfp was ok for a while but I soon lost motivation without a group setting.
