Especially when he talks about the elite? He is the freaking elite

The man is poison. Oh and loving the 7million from the government to renovate his wife's house even tho JRM is a millionaire

OP posts:
DonaldStott · 25/06/2017 20:08

He is a cretin. Yanbu.

chumpchange · 25/06/2017 20:11

The last time I read a thread about him on MN, someone commented that they thought he'd probably be filthy in bed.

Envy(not envy)
I now think of that whenever his name is mentioned.

Slap away OP.

Babbitywabbit · 25/06/2017 20:13

Disagree that he's a cretin (horrible term btw)
From listening to him it's clear he's actually quite intelligent.
Doesn't mean you have to agree with him (I don't) but at least if you're going to slag someone off, know why you're doing it. It's boring and ignorant just to call people offensive terms just because you disagree with their political views entirely

GrumpyInsomniac · 25/06/2017 20:14

He was horrible as an undergrad, and I see no evidence that he's improved with age.

DividedKingdom · 25/06/2017 20:18

God it's the upstairs downstairs effect. Don't believe the hype ladies!

OP, you nailed it. It's like a full-blown submissive streak running through the British population that has brought this country to its knees as so many hero worship these superiors tossers Grin

histinyhandsarefrozen · 25/06/2017 20:20

The millionaire elite fella who wants to slash health and safety standards "a very long way" after brexit?

Just a slap? Grin

People are really trying to pretend that brexit is a kick against the elites, are they? Jaysus.

stitchglitched · 25/06/2017 20:20

Was about to raise the same point as MrsTerryPrachett's link. He voted against a law that would require landlords to ensure homes were fit for human habitation. And he just happens to be a landlord. He's a prick.

Sophiealice95 · 25/06/2017 20:31

Hate him and his ilk . I feel like we are the plebs and they are our lords and masters. I resent the fuckers so much

Shellsandstones1 · 25/06/2017 20:36

He's got loads of kids and yet I can't imagine him in the sack.

VanillaSugar · 25/06/2017 20:38

He's very funny on AIBU but YABU, he shouldn't be slapped. He needs six of the best with a swishy cane that goes WHOOSH.

Shellsandstones1 · 25/06/2017 20:43

He's big pals with Mhari Black so he can't be all bad!

histinyhandsarefrozen · 25/06/2017 21:08

I think big pals is a slight exaggeration. She has always said she respects his knowledge and politeness but disagrees with 99% of what he says.

Rhayader · 25/06/2017 21:10

I definitely have a weird crush on him.

ragged · 25/06/2017 21:39

JRM is a patronising cowbag.

BasketOfDeplorables · 25/06/2017 21:40

Eugh, he's awful. He is so slimy and self serving. Always selling the party line, never criticising a leader. He's missed his calling getting insurance companies off paying up.

thereallochnessmonster · 25/06/2017 21:43

Why is he getting £7 million to renovate his house??

He is intelligent but his life and experience are so far removed from the reality of most people in this country that it makes him quite horrible.

HolyGhost · 25/06/2017 21:43

Anyone with a pulse would like to give JRM a smack.

His voting record makes it very clear exactly what kind of 'original voice' he is -- consistently anti gay rights, consistently in favour of reducing benefits, consistently against bankers' bonus tax, consistently against increasing tax on incomes of over £150 k, consistently voted in favour of mass surveillance, pro stricter immigration policy and asylum rules, against climate change prevention policies, to restrict legal aid. All with a side order of unpleasantly conservative Tridentine Catholicism which pretends Vatican II never happened.

He's the epitome of old-school self-protective Toryism.

waitforitfdear · 25/06/2017 21:45

I never believe posters who say they know famous people in RL it's beyond cringy.

DonaldStott · 25/06/2017 21:45

www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/24926/jacob_rees-mogg/north_east_somerset/votes

Please read the above. I stand by the word cretin.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 25/06/2017 21:49

He's not getting £7 million, that's utter nonsense.
Wentworth Woodhouse which was his wife's family's ancestral home but which was sold decades ago is getting the grant. A member of her family is a trustee of the organisation that runs it.
It's an important piece of architecture in an area which gets very little money spent on its heritage.
I am not a fan of Rees Mogg in the least but this has nothing to do with him. If we should be spending money on heritage at all then it was a sound decision imo.

GraceGrape · 25/06/2017 21:49

I don't think slapping would bother him. I imagine he grew up with spankings from Nanny.

There was an internet thing where you could give Michael Gove a virtual slap. I used to enjoy doing that if I was in a bit of a bad mood.

CauliflowerSqueeze · 25/06/2017 21:49

If I got into the Houses of Parliament I would be so exhausted from beating up Michael Gove that I'd have no energy to even muster a poke at anyone else.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 25/06/2017 21:53

Gove is infuriating because I love the idea of slapping him, but he is so charming and polite that it takes the edge off the dislike somewhat. I can't explain it - I disagree with 99% of everything he says yet can appreciate his manners. I suspect JRM is similar. (Although Gove has a dreadfully clammy handshake).

BoysofMelody · 25/06/2017 21:54

I'm not a violent person, but every time I my arm would never get tired punching that cunt.
